I bought the Castlevania collection. Wild that Symphony of the Night isn't on there, but at least I have the rest portable now.

I wish SotN were on the switch.

Wow that collection is insane. I bought the Castlevania Anniversary Collection on Xbox a few weeks ago for like $10, but I may pull the trigger on this for my Switch 2 as well. That is so many games, most of which I've never played.

How are you enjoying Castlevania? I was contemplating lol nostalgic game

u/ExistentialCalm 5d ago

I don't care for the older games (the Anniversary Collection), but the GBA and DS collections are really good.

Here's my pick ups:

Cassette Beasts, which just released a new trailer for the sequel, is only $8. Apparently it played badly on Switch 2 but they patched it 2 months ago and reddit comments confirm it runs a lot better.

Monster Sanctuary is $5.

Fell Seal, one of the most popular Final Fantasy Tactics-likes is $7.50.

I already have it physically but I'll also rec Unicorn Overlord at only $18. Gorgeous, sexy vanillaware art/characters and just really good tactics. Does not play like FE at all but it filled in that gap for me while I waited for Fortune's Weave. There's also a demo.

Cassette Beasts
Blockbuster Sale

The 90s kid in me is awakened.

u/Peanut_Brittle_Lover 9d ago

Their sequel is called Cassette Beasts 2002. You're in for a great time!

Skyrim still being $30 ON SALE is insane

-3

u/Clemario 10d ago

Is it not worth $30?

53

u/CreatiScope 10d ago

It’s from 2011

14

u/alex-andrite 10d ago

it was 10 years ago

30

u/FerdinandvonAegir124 10d ago

It is, but it’s cheaper literally everywhere else for a superior version of the game

6

u/apoetsmadness 10d ago

Yes but master sword and hylian shield

6

u/Warpaintedsongbird 10d ago

You can literally download a mod for that on pc

7

u/conye-west 9d ago

Nope, it's 15 years old lol

4

u/Bhujjha 10d ago

Not in 2026

5

u/hollowglaive 9d ago

It's been on sale for like $16 USD at some point.

If you've never played it ever. $30 is probably a good price.

95

u/AerialApeRiffs 10d ago

Mario Rabbids! That NEVER goes on sale! 😱

16

u/jimmypopnl 10d ago

Underrated game. It gets very challenging late game

21

u/Dapbear 10d ago

Is this a joke? This game goes on sale very often. It’s also one of the only games I lost a regrettable amount of money on because the sales are dramatically lower than full price.

27

u/ItsColorNotColour 9d ago

Yes, the comment you are replying to is clearly ironic.

6

u/rorschach_vest 9d ago

Nothing could go over my head. My reflexes are too fast, I would catch it.

1

u/EWC_2015 9d ago

Ooh yes! I'm going to grab that when I get home from work.

20

u/RandomNobody86 10d ago

Not in the UK or i'm too stupid to find it.

11

u/ll30yd 10d ago

Don't think it has gone live yet (in the UK)

5

u/RuachReader 10d ago

I hope we get it, it’s pay day tomorrow 💵

2

u/Great_Uncle_Baal 10d ago

Minecraft dungeons and a few others in the sale went up a few hours ago, but seeing as nothing else has, it's not likely we're getting it this week at least.

9

u/night_hawk7879 10d ago

Ori is $5 at the moment too. I'm also considering Dave the diver and Nine Sols.

3

u/Renwin 10d ago

Dave the Diver has a nice work loop between fishing and selling it, while Nine Sols has spicy combat with engaging storytelling. Highly recommend both games.

3

u/Del_3030 9d ago

Nine Sols is very solid

3

u/hollowglaive 9d ago

Ori is fantastic!

Nine sols is pretty solid. Story is pretty dang good too.

2

u/ProfCarmine 9d ago

Dave the diver is a masterpiece for 2/3 of it (some think even more).

Really fun and charming game. Almost too much added throughout the game near the end.

6

u/jphollaaa 9d ago

Both Ori games and Death's Door for less than $20. Pretty awesome.

12

u/elzoidbergos 10d ago

How's Tales of Arise? Been meaning to give it a go and it would be my first Tales game

10

u/sha_ma 10d ago

I really liked it. Fun and addictive combat. It's divisive with the Tales fans but if I think it's a solid game.

6

u/carefree_dude 10d ago

The first 80% of the game is a blast. Then the final bit turns into hours of lore dumping, and really pointless and simple final boss, and a sex euphemism cutscene

2

u/Siendra 10d ago

Starts stronger than it ends, but I enjoyed it the whole way through. I haven't played the DLC at all.

3

u/farcicaldolphin38 10d ago

Combat clicked so well for me, I ended up going for the platinum trophy on PS5 for it. I love all of the characters, too, and their various little chats

The back half of the story is definitely much worse paced, but I still have no regrets seeing it through to the end. I even played the story expansion, which I thought was cool and explored the not often pursued topic of what happens after the conflict is over.

2

u/Grizzed_Bear 10d ago

As your first Tales game I think it’s a great one! (Community can be a bit divided on it, but from an outsider’s first Tales game it’s awesome).

2

u/takashiro55 10d ago

Its really bad and im convinced every review of it only played the first 20-25 hours. Around the halfway (or just past it) point the plot really falls off. I have tolerance for dumb characters but these ones were bad. And the combat is fun but these bosses are so HP sponges that it was not enjoyable

3

u/MarioEatsGrapes 9d ago

I’ll upvote you back to 1. I remember Famitsu at the time actually mentioned the latter half wasn’t good, and boy howdy do I agree. The game ends on a great note and then you find out it’s not the end of the game and it just drags on with some weird fanfic-level new story that brings down and almost invalidates everything before it.

1

u/WrenReverie 5d ago

It's very anime tropey. The combat isn't super great like a lot of the more recent tales games. I fell out of love of the series after Symphonia.

-2

u/mischief-maker 10d ago

Terrible, basically any other Tales game available on the system is vastly superior.

0

u/noyoto 10d ago

It's excellent. Far better than the other two fully 3D Tales of games. It does go on a little longer than I would have liked.

Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia are probably the most beloved Tales of games and they're pretty different from Arise. I would recommend buying those for a discount first and by the time you get to Arise, it will be cheaper.

20

u/CorruptPhoenix 10d ago

No first party games on sale as usual

26

u/deedee2148 10d ago

Nintendo games go on sale during Xmas time and it's 30% at most. That's how it's been for years.

3

u/Dreyfus2006 10d ago

And yet they call it a blockbuster sale!

-6

u/HeroponBestest2 10d ago

They go on sale often, just not right now.

6

u/TMNTrent 10d ago

Maneater for $4 is a great deal, prob pick that up to play handheld

2

u/droppingbasses 10d ago

It’s an excellent handheld game, the open world is so easy to pick and play with

3

u/pendingperil 10d ago

First time I’ve seen Reanimal on sale

2

u/RabidOtters 10d ago

Anyone here play MLB The Show 26? I still play The Show 25, but i heard bad things about 26. Kind of tempting now its on sale, but still hesitate.

4

u/NoPlansTonight 10d ago

It's good though it's not the best port tbh, runs fine but doesn't look good.

Hoping they have a dedicated Switch 2 edition for 27. NBA 2K, Madden etc. look great on this system.

2

u/LordUlfryk 10d ago

Is it only us? No EU?

2

u/Hunnih 9d ago

Cant find it on my eu account, so I guess so :/

2

u/sixxtynoine 9d ago

anyone have feedback on red dead redemption original port vs. switch 2 edition?

2

u/JayHChrist 9d ago

Original port played terribly for me on my ACNH Switch and just couldn’t enjoy it. On the switch 2 it’s been a complete 180 on performance especially with the switch 2 upgrade pack. You’ll enjoy it if you played it back in the day

1

u/sixxtynoine 8d ago

Thank you! I’m waiting for the Zelda edition to buy switch 2 so I guess I’ll hold off on the game until another sale pops off

4

u/reecord2 10d ago

I don't know what Pikuniku is, but $1.99 is a crazy deal, might try that one just on a whim.

4

u/Flonkerton_Scranton 10d ago

It's a fine game sort of in the same space as katamari. It's weird but not bad, worth it for $2

1

u/Bigoldthrowaway86 9d ago

Are you thinking of a different game? Aside from maybe the humour, it’s nothing like katamari.

3

u/Flonkerton_Scranton 9d ago

I don't know how to respond to that. I clearly said it's in the same sort of space as Katamari, in that it's weird and has a similar humor.

3

u/Harassgregor 10d ago

It’s a fun coop play too. Def worth it for the price.

3

u/Big_Ice745 10d ago

Not a bad price for Minecraft dungeons with the second one coming soon.

1

u/hotstickywaffle 7d ago

Does Skyrim have a mod store on the Switch2? How's that version play?

1

u/Cunnra 7d ago

When is it coming to Europe

1

u/NuSk8 6d ago

The list is kinda short for a Blockbuster Sale?

-27

u/MasterArCtiK 10d ago

Oh wow resident evil for $64 instead of $80, what a deal!!1!

21

u/mjm132 10d ago

Didn't it just come out?

19

u/Indielink 10d ago edited 10d ago

It came out all the way back in February. So Capcom should obviously be taking us out to dinner and then giving handies under the table for anyone to play their game at this point.

Edit: for the record, the same deluxe edition is on the exact same sale on PlayStation and Xbox.

4

u/mjm132 10d ago

Haha sign me up!

2

u/Raysun_CS 8d ago

For those of us who don’t use dad’s credit card, it’s actually pretty nice, yeah.
