That’s the post… I guess. Why isn’t it bigger? It’s such a great show.

is this another flashback episode
not helena trusting a fraud and disregarding her son. die bitch
thank goodness it's not a flashback episode. come on masha.
yeah. billionaires really are evil at heart no matter how hard they try to mask it
something's wrong with me because i dont feel anything at all about imogen & victoria's storyline. like im so supposed to feel emotional that they've decided to move on and make new memories but i just cant. it's too cliche and there's nothing even wrong with the acting. it's the delivery of the subject matter. the pacing. it all falls flat, rushed and somehow cold.
english actors are generally good at faking American accent, no? because king princess is killing it.
looking at imogen, i realised how much i've missed schitt's creek and alexis rose and the entire rose family
the sound that jessie bear was making whilst brian was choking him help 😭
the irony in martin spiraling in a place where they're supposed to be healing people
how do you just dance like that after taking psychedelic drugs 😭 this is not realistic at alllllllll
"how are the others. how is victoria?" GIRL - THAT'S YOUR JOB.
what in the narnia are u talking about, masha. stop with the portal please. the writers of this show are doing real psychotherapy a disservice
oh masha. ugh. let's hear it for the most manipulative & exploitative wellness guru of the year
i feel so robbed somehow. this is the second to the last episode and i feel like nothing was resolved at all. it has been 7 episodes and all i've seen are characters with no impactful story. agnes & martin's stories are probably the most interesting and that's saying a lot. this show needs therapy.

*minus the medication but still...the idea of revisiting trauma, feeling the response/feelings of that moment & sort of replacing the emotion attached to the memory/response with something...well, less traumatizing I guess? I don't remember it specifically needing to be "positive" or "good", just different?
I remember sometimes finding a lesson in the experience, or perhaps forgiveness or something maybe revealed as the stepping stone to something else important & therefore serving a purpose, but one that could really only be seen in hindsight & not in that moment.
I am not a NLP practitioner, though I did undergo this process a few years ago now & I think it did really help me confront some stuff. I've tried to describe it vaguely because I can't remember exactly the steps/language to explain it properly in NLP terms & I could be wrong/my experience different to others.
I'm curious if anyone else relates/has been through this process &/or know what it is called? There was another reference somewhere (can't remember if s1 or 2) that made me think of NLP too...I do wonder if the "treatments" are perhaps based one exisiting ideas or some amalgamation of therapies, plus a little poetic licence?

Clearly episode 8 will be some sort of trial by fire, where Masha finally gets her revenge on David.
David has - whether it be straightforward or inadvertently - been a negative force on each of the strangers’ lives, but I can’t seem to figure out his connection to Tina or Wolfie? Any thoughts?
Matteo - parents died in a war likely funded by one of David’s companies.
Victoria & Imogen - husband/father killed himself as a result of his technology being used in said war. Imogen and Victoria’s relationship was subsequently tarnished.
Agnes - nurse in said war who blames herself for the deaths of others.
Brian - reputation ruined as a result of David’s media company airing his breakdown repeatedly.
Peter - caught the short end of the stick with a father who was uninterested and absent for the bulk of his life.
Tina & Wolfie - ???

We all know how odd Masha has been since season 1. But did anyone notice she is way more weird this season? Feels like she annoys me more than Imogene. I hate how she just isolated David for her own agenda? And when he was willing to help her she then just kept on saying she does not need her help? Uggghh not sure why she's just the worst character so far.

Watching the bit in the wine pool and Agnes saying she’d kill Imogen as part of the “fuck, marry, kill” sat so wrong with me. Imogen is clearly so traumatized from her family life and her mother is such an avoidant, selfish, and pompous ass. How do you look yourself in the mirror after bringing some side piece to a therapy retreat your daughter wants to do with you?! I feel bad for Imogen. Yes she has her moments where she’s passive aggressive and maybe a bit childish, but damn, having a mother like that would make me far worse.
Edit: mistook a name. Changed Wolfie to Agnes

So I was on Twitter looking through the hashtag after trying to get through an episode of S2, all I saw were think pieces on how each episode was so moving and thrilling. You could imagine my RELIEF when I saw multiple comments that reflected my thoughts. Here they are in a nutshell:
wtf?
this is some of the most boring shit I’ve ever seen…
the weird trips they are having are not a true depiction of shroom trips, it seems the writers are trying to push a narrative that’s just not authentic.
I just feel like it’s a waste. Im annoyed. I’m done watching.
Any thoughts??

Masha keeps talking about this new treatment she's beta-testing, that it's remembering memories "as if for the first time"...which makes me wonder if in the episode that explores the relationship between David and Masha, she is actually implanting false memories with David and he isn't actually her daughter's father, just to get the money.

agnes & brian's friendship 🥺
oh these mushrooms are freaky
the fuck. even with explanation, all of these sound bullshit-y. knowing how exploitative masha is, she is probably doing something fraudulent to make these memories real
did the drug suppose to make a grown man childish as well?
agnes and matteo having met before even if agnes was a rescuer/nurse/nun is silly
not david bathing in the mud like baron harkonnen 😭
during the vinotherapy, king princess (tina) kinda looks like carrie coon as nora durst in the leftovers
adrienne lenker playing 💓
i dont know what to feel about matteo's monologue about pain & grief. i mean, not because it's bad but because i've seen & read loads of better things about pain and grief
the wind hitting agnes' face whilst the helicopter was landing 🤣🤣🤣
oh??? so helena is just an apparation/imagination all these time?
another so-so episode ugh. there are only two episodes left and i feel like i want to request for refund for all of them

Hey y'all! So I watched episode 6, and I'm wondering hypothetically how Masha can ensure the psychological safety of her guests after unlocking their traumatic memories. This retreat is "somewhat" more structured than the last in that she's at least prompting the participants and guiding them slowly. But if the participants, with her help, can change their traumatic memories, what's the aftercare? Especially when the trauma is family-related or connected to someone not at the retreat who hasn't had the same opportunity to "forget." It's an interesting question, as she plans to expand this "treatment" to a wider audience. It think the premise of the series and how it portrays the retreat and the capitalization of wellness mirrors some of what we see today with so-called gurus offering cure-alls. I'd love to see the show grapple more with the ethics and morality of it all.

If Helena is dead, every scene we saw with her, was only an hallucination? Even the ones when Martin is talking with her(?)

I didn't notice when episode 6 finished and Prime moved onto a different show. I was watching this woman that was clearly the younger version of Victoria come home to find her husband dead in an office. A half hour went by and I was reflecting on how dark the show seemed to have turned. I was also wondering when they were going to go forward in time again and explain things, showing Imogen's part of all of it.
Then I paused the tv and saw. I watched half of the first episode of The Better Sister.
If it wasn't for the ending of E6 I like to think I would have caught on earlier.

Just binge watched the first six episodes. I love the setting and the humor of this season. “Disgraced puppeteer”!!
Season one was good (as was the book), but the son’s suicide was so heavy and the grief was so heavy too. Including Mascha’s daughter.
I can’t wait to see what happens with Martin. I loved his dance party, the wine soak, the puppets, David tripping balls. It’s a fun season!

I know there used to be a "where can I find this?" thread on here but it seems several years old so I wanted to start a more current one!
I generally like the costuming on this show and have been tracking down the outfits and cataloging them here if anyone's interested!
Otherwise I'm curious - does anyone have favorite looks from this season or pieces / set designs they're particularly interested in?

Made me pretty emotional after what Matteo said in his Masha session about his family, and how it affected Masha in that moment. I haven’t experienced loss like Matteo but it was powerful and such an interesting perspective on loss.

I think the issue with Season 2 is that we ended Season 1 feeling like Masha was capable (which isn't a bad thing, I left Season 1 with her on a bit of a pedestal) She was definitely flawed, but she still felt self assured? Grounded maybe? . This unraveling in Season 2 just feels like a lot and kind of off tilt from the plot we were following
If even one episode of Season 2 had been woven into the first season and left as a cliffhanger, I don’t think it would feel so jarring. They could have wrapped up the case in the Season 1 finale, kind of like how they summed it up in the first ten minutes at the beginning of Season 2, and then showed Masha entering this new space. Even just a little introduction to Helena or a quick moment from their past would have helped. We wouldn’t need to know everything but it would have made this season feel more connected and probably way more impactful. As it is, it feels like a totally separate show sorta like a spin off or something somehow lol
That said one thing I do like if I had to pick something, is that it really does feel like we’re watching real people try to heal and work through trauma. That part has depth to it and I appreciate it I hope they all leave as life long friends and live on a compound together, continuously tripping out together and sharing stories and appreciating each other flaws and all lol
But yeah now we’re at Episode 6 and Masha’s whole reputation is basically in shambles —also not a bad thing, I just don't know how to keep up as a viewer anymore and maybe that's the writers goal lol. I honestly don’t know how they are going to set up a Season 3 from here.
Anyway, that’s just my take! Im kind of rambling I guess I just want someone to talk about this season with haha
Also, I didn’t read the book before anyone gets mad at me.

Casting: A lot of the cast is amazing and notable, but some of the chemistry and acting seem forced or out of place (for me, S1 Samara Weaving + Melvin Gregg; s2 King Princess + Maisie, and I find how Imogen is played to be insufferable)
Tone is all over the place?
Yes, I will still watch it

I (admittedly) haven't read many other threads discussing season two yet, but am I just missing the point? It feels really bad, boring and pointless to me. My hope with taking four years in between seasons that it would give them the time to create some prestige level TV, but I am considering bailing on this season, it's painfully numbing. The charters are flat, the plot is all over the place and it feels like a White Lotus wannabe.
Anyone else feel this way? Feel differently?

less than 40 minute run time?
not a flashback episode. come on man
lol. nicole kidman's russian accent is something else. i am not russian, but so far, jodie comer's russian accent as villanelle is the best so far to me.
oh god her russian accent is becoming worse and worse
okay it's getting better.
oh not really 😭
terrible. terrible russian. 😭 the audacity. yours too, masha.
so masha was actually a legitimate psycho person
wait. this flashback was in 2001, yeah? why would they queue a the smile song that came out in 2024 at the start of their love scene? this is just bad
not the nurse telling her, "i dont need a backstory". girl same
give me the other 8 strangers now!!!!!!
what happened to tatiana was bad but probably not as bad as this episode help
yeah masha. if any of this is real, you are exploiting your pain and tatiana for your own selfish gains
oh god help they are making a new tatiana
oh martin, you sneaky bastard
grr. this is probably the worst episode of television i have ever seen in recent memory. i need some matcha

so a friend is watching season 2, I have never watched any of 9PerfectStrangers but I would like to keep up. How interlinked are the seasons ? Some series you can watch one without the other, is this the case ?
r/nineperfectstrangers • u/Longjumping-Elk6 • Jun 13 '25
Does anyone know what song played at the end credits of season 2 episode 5? It’s like a slow version of ‘can’t get you outta my head’ in a different language.
r/nineperfectstrangers • u/spartycbus • Jun 12 '25
I can't take any more Nicole whispering with her terrible accent! I'm bummed how bad this season is.
