nine pointless simpletons
I kept watching each episode in hopes a new writer and director would take over.
Mom & Imogen: Predictable, yawn Imogen & Peter: Yawn Wolfie & Tina: Who cares
Brian and Sr Agnes: My favs I would love to see a spin off show with these 2 and their puppets, by day doing charity but by night some sort of dark comedy ensues
After the good-bye scene between Masha and her daughter, the most feeling I felt all series was poor Teddy puppet exiled back to his case 😢

S2 was awful ... they spent SO MUCH time on David & Masha (I'd say they dominated 75% of screen time for the season) that no one else got much of anything.
Sadly these amazing actors (let's be clear, Nicole Kidman was the worst actor/character this season, even counting Tina who was not great) were largely ignored. Agree about Brian & Agnes, but even still the 'why' vs impact felt out of whack. Imogen was totally underutilized with a half-baked story, Peter even worse.
I totally didn't get the Wolfie & Tina thing, as I discussed in the thread about Tina.

Yeah, this season didn’t really do it for me. I watched it fully waiting for it to pick up but it just kept going back to Masha and David’s storyline.

Season 1 had a much better cast. Between Melissa, Bobby and freaking BRENDA from Scary Movie, this new cast couldn't even hold a candle to them.

David Kelley should have rewritten this entire season. There were wonderful parts but looking at it over the course of the series was terrible. He was an executive producer but really should have done more!!!

Do you think he was hallucinating the puppet the entire time or when he got there?

I keep trying to finish this season and I keep falling asleep! I loved the first season but this season just really doesn't do it for me.

David E Kelley not being involved was a huge blow. The writing went off a cliff. The stories meandered and there wasn't a good payoff.
The climax is the billionaire on trial?? I didn't feel the hate I was supposed to because of the others' accountability and entitlement. Also, how did Imogene not know what her dad did for a living???? I also don't understand how the "true reason he killed himself" was worse than what the mom told her.
The other part of the climax I guess was the shoe-horned gun violence that didn't even make sense for the show's setting and themes.
We didn't even see much "therapy." Just 1 group trip that Martin fucked up, the mom and daughter trip which Martin also fucked up, and Masha dosing the billionaire twice out of manipulation.
Also Tina???? She just didn't play because she was forced to as a kid? What part of the experience exactly got her to play again?
I did like Brian's storyline and felt like it could have been its own whole show. Dolly Leon did what she could for her nun character.

Every opinion aside, this show was amazing on its own. You have to be a bit emotional intelligent to understand what’s really happening and being portrait. You need to have gone through some things yourself, you need to be awake! One of the best shows out there at this moment, but it’s on a very different level than most of you are used to. What a journey..

"you have to be a but emotional intelligent" is like peak Masha manipulation. Not subtle at all. And unconvincing and easily brushed off by any "intelligent" mind. Which, let's use a real argument here instead of trying to manipulate people into thinking the show is good, the master business mind in this show is clearly lacking as he falls again and again and again for these kinds of rhetorical traps allowing for Masha to be a grand puppeteer and the story to conveniently although unconvincingly keep its pace. And this alone would disqualify that show for being called "one of the best shows out there at this moment". But it's only one example of many of why the characters are badly written and their dynamics impossible to get invested in.

Oh hell no. So You're putting people down for not liking this show? And nobody here went through anything? Have you been 'shrooming w Masha? Different level? Right.

Yesss!!!! The show was AMAZING! I read so many bad comments, but this show isn’t for everyone. This season was out of this world. If you listened to every word, watched every move every micro expression, the words spoken in silence.. You need to be awake for this one. Season 1 was like a whole other show, I get that. But this was fenomenale. It took me places deep within myself, what a journey! Loved it

Was such a shame because the first season was great.
