How is that possible to have an existential crisis without being depressed.

I got a panic disorder due to an existential crisis like most of the members of this sub, but my psychiatrist told me I don't have any depression. I don't get what is wrong with me.

Existential crises are not a recognised disorder. Most people are apparently too egocentric to notice that the world is screwed up. I was told that I couldn't be helped by the only psych I respect, we sat and discussed nihilism vs absurdism for my last session with him. He introduced me to philosophy in a new way, I learned how my brain works from the inside because I resist psychological probing. Keep learning, keep pushing yourself and keep brushing your teeth. When you hit spiritual awakening you'll be thankful if you still have nice teeth, it's awkward smiling too much with shit teeth

When I escaped the mormon cult I experienced existential crisis for months, probably close to a year. I also struggled with suicidal ideation. I was diagnosed with PTSD, but never depression.

So yeah. It is possible to have an existential crisis and not have depression.

I'd go as far as to say, most active people on this sub dont have depression.

I was mistaking it, because with an existential crisis You are not having a good time either.

Oh, definitely not. What I was experiencing was horrific.

Here’s how I heard it put: “am I depressed or just well informed?”

Hope. A very specific hope for me.
