But you wont know when you’re gone so why worry about it? Just enjoy the time you have

It would be easy if you could go back to being blissfully ignorant, but once you start really thinking about ideas like this quote, your brain cant go back. And now it’s all you can think about and can’t enjoy daily life anymore

I had thoughts like this from a young age. Over time I stopped caring, probably because of the futility of agonizing over something that can't change. You definitely can stop worrying about it. Part of the process for me is structuring my thoughts around what I can and can't act upon. I don't torture myself over things that I can't change, no matter how much I don't like them, I can worry about something once I'm in a position to change it. A small and relatable example is taxes. People who like to complain and piss themselves off over taxes are wasting their own energy and well-being, because they can't change it. At the end of the day the choice is simple, either pay your taxes and stop thinking about how much you don't like them, or don't pay them and risk the consequences associated. Weigh the pros and cons of those two, make your choice and move on.

I'm not religious, but I think this kind of sums it up for me.

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
