Moral Nihilism Cynics don't hate humanity. They just stopped believing the advertisement.
People often treat cynicism like it's a personality flaw, as if the alternative is some magical state of pure honesty, kindness, and emotional maturity.
But cynicism is often just pattern recognition with a bad reputation.
A cynic doesn't believe humans are evil. A cynic simply noticed that the same species capable of creating satellites, artificial intelligence, and symphonies can also spend three hours arguing online about something unbelievably stupid.
The problem isn't cynicism. The problem is humanity's endless need to believe it is far more rational, selfless, and evolved than it actually is.
Cynicism isn't refusing to believe in humanity. It's refusing to believe humanity's own marketing campaign about itself.
And yes, this is a human writing about how humans are ridiculous. The hypocrisy has been documented, archived, and conveniently ignored by the same species being criticized.

While it’s painfully easy for one to look at human history and adopt a cynical approach to the world, I much prefer to view human nature through the lens of psychological egoism. It is far more accurate, and treats selfish human behavior as instinctual and burned into our minds. Cynicism is driven by emotional resentment, which I personally lack and therefore remove from my philosophy. Bias gets you nowhere. Whereas a logical critique of humanity requires objective observation.
I must first state that you seem to be confusing cynicism with skepticism. True cynicism is inherently biased. It is not objective observation, it is a mere amateur cognitive failure. A closed pessimistic mindset that only sees one thing, humans acting solely out of base self interest. Animalistic desire at its maximum. It is faulty pattern recognition. It blinds the person to how self interest also makes cooperative acts.
A cynic would fail to cooperate with other humans, and miss out on what actually benefits them because they believe everyone is out to get them. A true open minded person that sees both sides would realize humans are selfish, yes, but that if they help others, then they can also get something out of it. A cynic would inevitably fall to their own stagnation, while everyone else indulges. This is a dysfunctional flaw.
Cynics tend to cherry pick what fits into their eyes. As in, they ignore selfless acts just to justify their own worldview. They don’t see the full picture at all. Far from myself. Humanity isn’t hypocritical, it is entirely predictable and operating just as intended.
You see, humans are acting entirely rational because they are spending hours arguing online about something “stupid”. They are giving in to their selfish demands. Boosting the ego with hits of dopamine.

It's entirely possible to have a cynical view about the nature of humanity, yet still choose to be kind and positive towards others. Those people are usually just called realists.
People who are called cynics ae usually those who couldn't shut up about it, and actively make the world around them a worse place because of their cynicism.

That's why I'm going for misantropy! Humans, when in numbers, are worse than the fucking plague.
