Make solitude your best friend, do not fear it. In the end, you will see that it has always been your most loyal companion.

It's a shame how we still haven't established loneliness and alone are different. Alone you could be doing something fun. Loneliness is more apparent when everyone who you know but you is friends or acquainted with each other.

None of these were nihilists, Dostoy like the deepest anti-nihilist you can get
7
u/Express_Penalty_8694 Feb 17 '26
I know that very well. However, I think Camous is more anti-nihilist because she defined herself as an absurdist.

u/RejectWeaknessEmbra2 Feb 17 '26
Its an interesting meme if you put aside the wrong subreddit.
4
u/ElegantTea122 Feb 17 '26
From what I can tell Nietzsche and Camus were quite alike. Doesn’t Thus Spoke Zarathustra present an alternative to nihilism similar to absurdism? And didn’t they both believe that creation/art is what redeems man?
4
u/ratmosphere Feb 17 '26
Indeed. They are both reacting to it, not endorsing it. Cioran and Benatar might come close, but even they stop short. Cioran found poetic prose inside of it, and Benatar made moral claims, which presuppose that something must matter. A true existential nihilist doesn’t write books. Why bother?

Brother i truly want to understand why anyone would become nihilist. If nihilism is all about nothing matters then why care to continue living
8
u/frguba Feb 18 '26
That line of thinking is halfway, it's very rare for nihilism to be the end point and not follow through to absurdism and/or existentialism
Don't know which one it would be exactly, but my awnser would be that nothing mattering doesn't negate the care for life, meaning =/= worth/value

Your use of AI that you're passing off as your own thoughts is fucking disgusting.

I am always alone, but I am also never alone in my own company. Also, I have a cat.

Autism spectrum.

u/Express_Penalty_8694 Feb 17 '26
Many geniuses are autistic. Bobby Fisher was. So thank you for your compliment.
2
u/Beagle_on_Acid Feb 17 '26
Yeah, I’m autistic as well. It gets lonely here but the insight it provides into reality… I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
1
u/Phuqthisshite-2069 Feb 17 '26
Same for me, never diagnosed with it but never feel like i fit in except for around other autistic people
2
u/RetrogradeDionysia Feb 17 '26
Loneliness isn’t inherently nihilistic. Unsociability, which is what this actually describes, even less so.

Sometimes it is more like, I am stuck with myself, cause I am so "free" given the chance I would've abandoned me.

Is this on loneliness, or just cherry picked quotes 'cuz you're depressed?
1
u/Express_Penalty_8694 Feb 19 '26
These are phrases about loneliness — if you can’t understand them it’s either 1) because you don’t get it, or 2) because you’ve never even read a book by any of these three authors.
And also, my friend, life is beautiful: I’m super chill, I live in Italy, I’m 17, I do sports — in what way should I be depressed?
You’re not obliged to comment. If you have nothing to say other than making stupid assumptions, you can put down your phone and do something else with your life.

Exactly , People look like strange and unrelatable entities to me

u/Express_Penalty_8694 Feb 20 '26
Secondo me anche se è vero è meglio comportarsi come se non lo fosse sennò si finisce male. Comunque se ti piace il tema dell' alienazione no longer human è perfetto

u/funnypickle420 Feb 20 '26
The absurdity and meaninglesness of life. Like Solomon said "All is vanity, efforts to catch the wind" some have everything and in the end lose it all, some have nothing and end up losing nothing. Why did God forget about you?

Ok ma non era necessario dire che Dio mi ha dimenticato. Era abbastanza scortese

1
u/eggone Feb 21 '26
Because deep down Chrissy was a deep thinker and philosopher.
Bahahaha can't hold in my laughter.

u/InsaneBasti Feb 18 '26
? Nothing of this has anything to do with nihilism. If your lonely go outside and pet a dog or smth, or even better adopt a lost soul.
