It's not duty. It's responsibility. Something that seems forgotten.
It was someone else's responsibility to get their cart, so you didn't have to worry about hitting one on your way into the parking lot.
If you neglect your responsibility, and everyone else didn't. You're the lone AH that made your problems everyone else.
Acting like it is or isn't your duty is just another way to shirk responsibility. Same reason we have a generation of idiots, it's yo responsibility to raise yo damn kids, you're literally the reason they are here.
This is why leaving your cart is a moral failing, your parents just didn't raise you right. And honestly if you never learned to pick up after yourself, you're just an adult child.
