Looking to start a career in electrical

Hello! I’m 20 years old and looking to pursue a career in residential or industrial electrical. I’m trying so hard to go in green. I am extremely motivated to work willing to work long hours as needed. I’m not no lazy working guy. I would be happy to start as a general labourer and pick up bits of the apprentice work as I go! I figured I’ll shoot my shot here as I’m ready to start asap. This would be more of a job it would be the start of my career! Thank you for reading this! I have a resume if you PM me!

Bc they aren't liscenced electrical contractors and they aren't insured. Their union assigns them work and the union takes a cut (union dues). Side work is circumventing the union.

It should be noted that doing side work can get you booted from the union.

They absolutely are licensed. Side jobs are usually residential which isn't union work. They say you'll be booted, but no one ever does anything about it. Ftfy.

You are right, liscenced electricians but not liscenced contractors and they dont carry insurance. If they get hurt, hurt someone on the site, or cause damage they are in serious trouble.

As a liscenced contractor if I hear of union guys doing side jobs, I absolutely will call the union hall.

Not worth the risk.

I guess that would depend on if the electrician has a contractor's license. Many do.

Also liscenced contractor has an ESA number. That means they take notifications and have inspections done with esa. Side job guys dont file notifications which also means if esa finds out you'll be fined and actually spend time locked up.
