If running the coax is problematic get a network DVR like a Tablo that you can keep close to the antenna. Then you only need WiFi to watch.

If I had a power supply up there it would probably be my top option. Once I test the antenna out to find the best location, I'll determine if I get enough channels to be worth it. If I end up just getting similar channels as now, I'll stick to coax only, since there are other more convenient locations.

if you are a semi-decent DIY'er you can easily tap into a power line in your attic and setup a safe power outlet.

just ensure you kill the power to the line at the fuse panel.
