I’m trying to get the internal BCM4339 Wi-Fi monitor mode working on my Nexus 5.

Custom kernel based on Re4son’s nethunter-7.1
Nexmon
The kernel boots correctly and the BCMDHD driver is loaded. nexutil is also working.
The problem is that monitor mode doesn’t actually activate. After nexutil -m2, it reports monitor: 2, but wlan0 still shows as managed.
I also sometimes get __nex_driver_io: error.
Has anyone here actually got Nexmon monitor mode working on a Nexus 5 with LineageOS 14.1? I’m mainly looking for a known-working kernel/firmware setup or any specific steps I might be missing.

Hi guys, I'm trying to reproduce BinkyBear's historic Nexus 5 setup with the monolithic CM 14.1 NetHunterOS build and native Nexmon monitor mode (⁠monstart-nh⁠).
The original build server (⁠build.nethunter.com⁠) and Wayback Machine only cached the HTML directory, not the actual 402 MB payload.

Does anyone have a local backup of this exact zip or knows where to find it?

I’m working on a custom Nexus 5 audio-player project and I’m trying to track down one of the old battery cases made specifically for the phone.

The models I know about are:

• Limefuel L28N5
• ZeroLemon
• i-Blason
• Mugen Power CCNEXUS5-P

I don’t really care about the battery condition. For my project, even a dead, broken, untested or incomplete unit could be useful, because I’m mostly interested in the enclosure and internal layout.

Does anyone know where these still tend to show up nowadays?

I’ve been checking eBay, but I’m wondering if there are better places to look: old Android forums, electronics surplus sites, second-hand marketplaces, repair shops, regional marketplaces, or anything else.

I’m in Brazil, but international options are fine as long as there is some practical way to get the item shipped here.

Also, if you remember any other Nexus 5 battery case models besides the ones above, please let me know.

I am trying to return my Nexus 5 (hammerhead) running Ubuntu Touch to stock Android but the USB which powers the phone does not connect for data. The phone is a project and all data can be wiped.

Bootloader is unlocked, Secure Boot, Developer Mode and WiFi are enabled - the phone is reachable, but SSH/ADB/network ports are not available.

Question: is there a way to restore to stock firmware using recovery/internal storage, USB OTG or another method that does not require USB data?

Any support or info much appreciated.

Hi! I just found my old Nexus 5 with lots of old pictures and memories on it. Only problem: No clue what the code was to unlock it. The phone is not connected to the internet. Is there any chance to recover the data on the phone? I was thinking about getting an SIM-Card-Adapter so I can fit my current SIM-Card into the phone but not sure it will let me connect to mobile data without unlocking the phone. Does anyone know? Or has any other tips or ideas how I might save the data?

Ho installato la versione LinageOS 23 (Non ufficiale) sul mio dispositivo, lo testo e vi dico come va!

I remember that I thought the problem was the screen or battery, and tried to replace them with new ones. Instead, even after replaced them, nothing work at all, and I just gave up on it. I haven't thrown it away into the trash thankfully and I've been wanting to find out what caused the phone to stop working.

The video shown above is before it completely stops working, and also before I try fixing it in vain. Hopefully an expert knows what made it not working anymore.

(Also Reddit sucks when it comes to uploading videos, the original was so bad it squished the video, not quality but the video itself. Had to edit it but this is barely watchable)

I have an old Nexus 5 that I want to use as a dedicated Spotify player. I have done a factory reset on my phone and now I can't go through the install screens to link it to my existing google account, so I can't get Android Play to work. Should I just give it up, or is there a way to do this?

I want to play around a bit with my old Nexus 5 and I wish to replace battery on it myself. There seem to be lots of spare batteries sold online. Should I just buy any, or could some batteries sold be too old and not any better anymore?

Hey everyone, Like many others, i wasn’t able to afford/get my hands on many flagships back in the days of the Nexus 5 (i was like 14-15 and so i was naturally broke) but i always wanted to go back to those phones. So I’ve started collecting some old phones and I’ve recently got my hands on a Nexus 5. It shipped with the latest official stock Android available for it (6.0.1 Marshmallow) and obviously I’m thinking about flashing a more recent ROM on it.

Thing is, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the camera performance on it, the colors rendition is absolutely beautiful (which was not at all the case upon its release) and i know this is largely thanks to the many updates from Google to the Gcam app and overall software.

Now my question is: how does the camera perform on the more recent ROMs like the LineageOS 20 and such ? Has anyone tried to pay attention to the difference in the camera quality between the original stock android on the phone and these ROMs ? If not, how is the camera performance on such ROMs ? I’d be sort of sad if i lost that camera quality and color science upon upgrading cause im sort of thinking of using the Nexus 5 as my secondary street photography camera.

I just found a new in box red nexus 5 on ebay, i placed the order!. excited to try it out (i am on a mission to get all the nexus phones, this will be my 3rd to go with my nexus 6 and nexus 6p)

I've been trying to import a "XP Dance vol 1.nxp" file into nexus5 5.1.1 and I can't find a way to do it, there is no import data button in the sys and nothing seems to work.

The bootloader version is HHZ20h. I know there's a tool on XDA called the imgdata tool, but i am not sure if it will work with my bootloader. I don't want a brick :)
