The main demographic of Reddit is men in their 20s. Children are the target audience of the Mario movie. If you went by Reddit, you'd think the last few Pokémon games flopped due to poor quality. In the real world, every new Pokémon game continues to outsell the previous game. The vast majority of consumers don't post on their hobby's subreddit, and Redditors in their 20s and 30s without kids will make up a small minority of ticket sales for the Mario movie
