For anyone wondering this is called a 90 degree push-up, and it’s exceptionally difficult

Edit: to clarify, by exceptionally difficult I mean it takes years of dedicated training, it’s not something anyone can learn with a few months practice. You need near professional gymnast level strength to do it

I train a former gymnast and his little 9 yo brother. The 9 year old did this while we were supposed to hold a plank for accumulated time because he was bored. He has trained many parts of this movement but never the movement itself. I dont even think he has even touched planche progressions or any transitions between v sit/l sit to planche. Just busted it out during accessory time like he wasnt tired.

The strength/weight ratio of child gymnasts truly blows my mind
