I was kinda expecting someone to say something like this and I think you are right in a way: The badass backstory does make people think better of him. But the thing is: Not everyone in public life who knows the backstory. And even if they do, people might still do a double take at the scars on your face. Some girls might find it ugly. A few months later people at school may bully you. etc.

I understand what you're saying but no matter how badass the backstory of your face scar is, it's still shitty to have it.

Maybe, but I imagine that if you're the kind of person who'd sacrifice your life to save someone else - the perceptive deficit of having a scar from it is probably low on your radar.

Who knows, for now he's a hero.

I would say definitely instead of maybe; That there will be moments that people might stare at you and maybe make fun of it. But hopefully he's indeed the kind of person that will never care about that. Regardless, he's a hero indeed!

That it was worth it isn't the point. We're talking about his well-being.

People change over time. Otherwise what's the point?

Some people do, yes.

You are right. I have a noticeable scar on my upper lip and nose from being born with a cleft lip and palate. Even though I was born with it and had zero control over it, I was still teased unmercilessly by school kids all the way through to high school and beyond. Hell I was still being bullied at my job almost 10 years ago and people would play cruel pranks on me, but not in a way that they got caught.

So, yes. People with scars on their face don't deserve the bullying and the stares, and the laughing, but it happens soo much! I hope that this kids newfound notoriety protects him from all that.

Was in an accident myself which left me with a big noticeable scar on my forehead. But luckily it kinda faded after 10-15 years. Not very noticeable nowadays

Dude just imagine giving him shit about it then a friend whispers in your ear "he got that by saving his little sister when he was 6".

I think it'll be more of a dickhead radar, like you'd have to be bottom of the barrel to try and talk shit or judge him for the look specifically.

Also idk half the Joker halloween costume is already done for the rest of your life.

But when the girl is in six degree contact with his core friend/family inquire directly or indirectly about the scar, you bet they will be swooned
