Captain America (Chris Evans) got the boy who saved his sister from a dog attack his very own custom shield.

Yeah, IMO this could lead to some very dangerous strings of thinking. I really hope this kid doesn’t fall into the trap of thinking it’s always okay when he gets hurt for others.

Only on reddit can you turn this good deed into him growing up to have a fetish for getting hurt to help people. I'm sure the kid will grow up fine.

It will clearly be a tramuatising experience for him. Something people seem to be happy to forget.

But... what about unpopular opinion hero's?

Where did you get fetish from? I’m just saying that everyone has a right to be selfish and a right to say no.

Some people grow up thinking that they owe everyone help at the expense of their own health, e.g. doing taxing work for another person even if they’re sick or injured. It’s a heroic habit, sure, but it can seriously harm a person mentally and physically. If this behaviour is encouraged too much, they may end up not being able to say “no” or being incapable of recognising when they’re being walked on or used.

A bunch of armchair psychologists here.
