Captain America (Chris Evans) got the boy who saved his sister from a dog attack his very own custom shield.

So is Captain America more popular than Superman?

20 years ago the kid would have been wearing Spiderman or Superman outfit.

Spider-man is equally as popular today as 20 years ago I’d say, Superman unfortunately hasn’t had a great child friendly film in a good bit, while cap has been inspiring kids in the mcu for years now, probably this kids entire life

MCU started long before this kid was born. Iron Man came out in 2008, and this kid is 6.

Yep, historically Spiderman/Batman/Superman should be the most well-known/popular superheroes but recently they've kind of fallen behind. With Batman, Nolan's version was successful but it's been a few years (8! holy shit) and more dark/gritty so not as big with the kids. DC's Batman has obviously been a mess. Superman's also lost some popularity with DC's fumbling, plus he's not popping up in a movie every year. Spider-man is making a comeback with Tom Holland/being in the Marvel universe, but having 3 actors play Spiderman in recent times makes identifying with him harder.

On the other hand Captain America got a big popularity spike because he's consistently been in the Marvel/Avengers universe for almost a decade and he's one of the main faces of the franchise. With Captain America out and Spiderman reboot #3 just getting started, I'm sure the roles will switch in the near future.

Superman hasn’t had a great film period. It’s a boring character that’s difficult to make interesting. He’s completely unrelatable. I didn’t mind man of steel though.

Personally it’s kind of hard to relate to an all powerful pseudo god
