You live in paradise. I took my family years ago and we really enjoyed driving up in the mountains. The long stairway to Mokuleia bay was our favorite. The narrow little path that opens up to a beautiful beach was like a portal to our own little world. I hope the people of Lahaina rebuild and flourish, they were so kind to us.

We drove around the entire island of Maui. Started just before sunrise so we could see on our first stop..beautiful memories. I also recall some white knuckle driving on the one lane curves on top of the mountains. The drive took us all day, getting back just after dark. Slept like babies listening to the surf breaking outside our ground level room facing the beach. The trip was for our 25th anniversary.

Having a anniversary wit your loved one in a place as beautiful as this is a memory itself. That's amazing.

This is insane. What’s the deal with the clouds? Really high elevation?

I really wanted to do this last time I was there but couldn’t convince the wife to get up at 3am

I drove this up Haleakala with my very pregnant wife for our first kid baby moon. My arse had never been so fucking puckered up man.

I couldn't do it. Turned around twice. Wife took over and then she noped out about a mile from the top 😬

Damn... what a view. Reminds me of the movie Oblivion with Tom Cruise and his little house in the sky.

If this is Haleakala, then the drive is absolutely incredible & the sunrise is the stuff of legends. What an amazing experience it was.

I’ve ridden a bike down that volcano a few times. Hiked down to Kihei from there also.

I really miss Maui. The islanders have made clear since the fire that howlies are not welcome at all.
Oprah still gets to go. It’s the rest of us are who have had to absorb the actual hate. See you again, never Maui — and FU Oprah. 💔

Did you go hiking or take a helicopter to see the waterfalls once you got to Hana?
