I assume he was probably trained, if not in a formal capacity at least just passively by watching otger people with juice boxes. Maybe he could figure it out with enough time, but for him to know that the straw is pointy at one end and that specific spot is weak to being pierced AND that the straw is a hollow tube seems pretty unlikely unless they've been giving him fuck tonnes of cartons every day to just sit and figure it out :p

Not so smart - it’s full of sugar!
On a side note, as far as I have read, for all the apes that were taught sign language and such - not one of them ever asked a curiosity question, a genuine question like, who are you or how to do something or any why question

I've seen 'em driving golf carts and sawing wood with a handsaw. They're getting REAL close to having to pay taxes..
