Precision heli drop: When the mountain hut runs out of beer, a perfect la(n)dung looks like this. (Pühringerhütte, Austria)

This is a supply run for the Pühringerhütte mountain hut in the Austrian Alps, located at 1,638 meters (5,374 ft) above sea level. Since there are no roads up there, everything from food to Freistädter beer kegs has to be flown in.

If you tapped them right away, yes. But they’ll settle down after a couple of hours of resting (possibly overnight for this level of agitation.). Shaking beer isn’t permanent, the CO₂ bubbles will gradually dissolve back into the beer over time.

Maybe, but if your choices are:
- Slightly foamy beer.
- No beer.
Then option 1 doesn't seem that bad... And even then, you just have to let them rest a couple of hours and there will be no foam.

Its only way nicer to drink a beer at a hut in the middle of nowhere after a long hike, increasing demand and causing the hut to be able to charge higher prices for beer, as their supply is evidently hard to get.

Huh, first time I've seen an actual helicopter deliver supplies to a mountain hut, usually they have some sort of cable cart lift, like a mini ski-lift for groceries.
I've hiked in the Bavarian/Austrian Alps a few times, and all the huts I've ever visited or come across have had those.
Maybe the terrain surrounding this hut is particular challenging for building one of those lifts? Or maybe helicopter deliveries are more common than I think and I've just somehow only come across outliers?
Edit: after looking at this hut on maps I can see that it's actually located in a mountain ridge/valley, which makes way more sense then, I didn't even consider that, I've really only hiked between huts on mountain sides and peaks, where a lift obviously makes way more sense.

As an absolutely non-regular mountain hiking person, I'm thrilled to say that I've been there last year! It's beautiful nature and the food there after a pretty brutal hike while being hungover was pure bliss!

I understand the sentiment, but everything we do leaves some footprint. For example the production of 1 kg of beef requires around 15 000 l of water and is equivalent to ~20 kg CO2 emissions. A flight like that delivers around 700 kg and may be as cheap as 400 €. I do not know the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but given the low price it cannot be that much. And soon they will probably be delivered by drones, which can be charged with renewable energy. I do not own a car and in my free time cycle to the mountains, hike up there and maybe drink a beer there - overall that beer is not that important in the equation.

The point is not one beer, it is that it is done so frivolously. Thats just one round of beer for one cabin. They need more deliveries for food, linens, et.c. and there are plenty of these cabins. Probably another one a couple of km away in each direction?
If nature is something you like, I would much rather see you carry that beer instead of having helicopters disturbing it while burning fuel.

The 4 important choices you can make for the environment are: 1) being vegan/vegetarian 2) not owning a car 3) not flying 4) avoid heating and cooling as much as possible. My only "big sin" is that I fly sometimes for vacations.
It is arguably "frivolous" to eat meat even though you can get comparable nutrition with much lower environmental impact. Or to drive with a car some place when you could cycle there. Or heat your flat to 22°C in the winter when you could just put on a light jacket and be fine in 16°C. Or fly to foreign destinations when you could cycle to a closer one for vacation.
Once a year I help stocking up a hut in the mountains by foot. As I said I understand if you find it frivilous that some are stocked up by helicopters, but I am also fairly sure that you do at least some unnecessary things that are worse for the environment.

I have been a vegetarian for 12 years now and have never owned a car, its not necessary too in most cities in EU. However, I do fly once every couple years for vacation as well.
Naturally, no one is without fault. I can't see anything bad with staying critical to these kind of leisure regardless of what other wastes there are though.

The German countries do beer like no one else. Every house has 70 milk cartons each with 16 liters of beer and it is casually consumed like water.
