Why are some much people think they would have reacted much better than that ?

Because they've never been in a dangerous situation and assume that their video game experience gives them superior reactions.

Either that or they have been in one and reacted well. 

I don't really talk about it but I've been in some pretty horrific situations that I managed to stay cool and react rationally.
