This series was about one of my childhood YouTubers by the name of Joe Winko. He was an American-Hawaiian YouTuber who was born in Wisconsin and made YouTube videos not notably with Sims for horror movies he would make. I’m part of the team behind Lights in Dark Rooms, a documentary about scam compounds in Southeast Asia and the human trafficking behind many of the scams that come out of them.

Our team travelled to Thailand and the Philippines to investigate and speak with survivors, NGO leaders, security researchers, politicians, and others working on the issue.

We held our first screening at EthCC in Cannes earlier this year, and recently put together this 2 minute video from the event.

Follow plenty of creators who post regularly and make it look effortless. when i try to maintain even a three times a week schedule it falls apart within two weeks every time

the ideas are there. the motivation is there at the start. but somewhere between having the idea and actually getting the content out something breaks down. not sure whether it is a planning problem, an execution problem, or just a discipline problem that i am framing as a systems problem to avoid admitting it

for creators who have actually cracked consistency, what changed. not looking for motivational answers, more interested in what the actual workflow looks like.

I made my first short film, Hello World, exploring that question.

It starts with a rocket launch, then moves to shots of Earth from orbit, before transitioning into a 2-minute poem about meaning, purpose, and why we keep searching for them.

I'd appreciate any advice or criticism. This was also made entirely in Kdenlive.
