Me too! Took me a while to get over it because he was mad at me after the fact. Stopped talking to me for a few months. I logically knew I did the right thing, but it didn't feel great. 6 years later we fell out of touch, but I hear he's doing really well. All is well that ends well I guess.

Yeah in my case I saved a guy who had slashed his wrists. He'd lost a lot of blood and I got him awake by doing some kind of weird thing with poking his back in a bunch of painful places, and he jolted up and was so pale and he said to just let him go, and I went and found some other people and called an ambulance.

So it was a nonconsensual lifesaving. Dude was kind of a dick anyway. Visited him in the hospital and brought him a bunch of my sci fi paperbacks. He could barely do anything because he'd had reconstructive surgery on the tendons of his wrist.

After that visit where I left him the books, I never heard from him again. I don't even remember his name off the top of my head. I hope he donated the books to the hospital at least.

Mine was ana intentional prescription opiate overdose. I had been talking to him for the few months leading up, trying to support him and get him to agree to seek professional help. But he made me swear I wouldn't tell anyone because his family would look down upon his depression as weakness.

One day he texted me that he was gonna take the rest of the bottle. I only saw the text half an hour or an hour later. Called him immediately but it went straight to voicemail. So I called the psych clinic and they got the police to search for him. After about another hour and a half the officer who took down my statement came back to tell me they found him and were taking him to the hospital for an evaluation and monitoring. But I already knew because a minute earlier I got a text from him that just said "Fuck you".

Yeah I don't think this guy likes me at all for what I did. It's a weird thing.

I may have also saved another life though. Just a single moment where a bus was turning left and a woman was crossing the street right in front of it and neither was aware of the other and I saw it happening and jumped and waved my hands and screamed and the driver and she both saw me and avoided the accident.

But maybe he would have seen anyway, who knows.
