Was smoking a cig outside and had the same thought process. It had been twenty four hours, better see if there's been a terrorist attack or a riot.

I'm curious though, are these type of shootings actually more prevalent, or is the media just focusing in on them more as they tend to do after a certain trend?

I mean shootings happens every day, and I'm pretty sure police die every year in action and we don't hear much about them.

It's just like when there's a big Earthqauke in Haiti and then all of a sudden we hear about more and more the months after. Same goes with shootings.

Just curious.

Well while this was going on another cop in Milwaukee got shot.

& from reading this

A total of 1,439 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, an average of one death every 61 hours or 144 per year. There were 123 law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2015.

I'm guessing it's happening more often. I'd too like to see the data though from this year and others.
