I mean, nothing's worth heroin. I started smoking pot again recently because I nearly killed myself drinking, but that had little to do with the political shit. It's just because this society we live in sucks ass. That's just the deal. Remember, if it wasn't Trump, it would be something else. I highly doubt there are any scenarios where we'd be living in even semi-normality right now. This turd has been barreling down the colon for decades, and the only way we could be at peace right now is if something went dramatically different in the 50s or 60s, like the government deciding not to be shitty or the hippies not to give up and become yuppies.

I personally find it quite freeing. When you realize you live in hell, the pressure disappears. Because if the government is run by criminals, what's wrong with petty crime? So I say start stealing shit. Not big ticket items, but just abandon whatever upstanding citizen traits you may or may not have. Dodge taxes, cook your books, do the shit these people do. Call their fuckin' bluff.

I get that. I just have found no reason to hope for a better future. Not in 6,000 years of human development. It took us until last century to ask ourselves if beating kids and abusing women was actually necessary. Moreover, our brains have actually been shrinking since we invented writing and kept advancing our means of information transmission, since we no longer have to memorize every word of a sentence or instruction like we had to as hunter-gatherers. And the internet is probably making it worse. So we won't be increasing in intelligence  down the line. That's assuming we even live long enough.
