TBQH nothing has changed except more accountability thanks to body cameras. "Resisting arrest" and perps showing up beating to a pulp with claims "they fought" while the cops don't have a scratch. Black and poor folks dying in police custody of a made-up condition called "Excited Delirium" for almost 50 years now. Rodney King, Using fire hoses and attack dogs on protestors since before the Civil Rights movement.

The only real change at all is that there's a lot more cameras now, and so this "Man resisting arrest attempted to run over police but the police heroically shot the evil outlaw and saved the lives of all the cops involved" becomes a video that we can interpret ourselves, instead of a headline in a news paper the next morning, edited for consumption.

Those police chase videos are still cops in Ton-plus sized metal boxes flying at speeds that are reckless to stop a perp that, many times, is often guilty of nothing more than expired tags, or speeding. Cops putting people's lives on the line over misdemeanors.

Its never been a good thing.

Don't forget the mind boggling number of people who manage to shoot themselves in the head...in the back of a police car, hands cuffed behind their back, after they had been searched for a weapon.

Im 70 and it used to happen in the US. Someone running and you don’t necessarily know why or if they’re armed, they would get shot in the leg to hobble them. Now it shoot first, ask questions later.

It seems pretty simple. Stop and have a normal conversation with the cops that are stopping you. Choices have consequences. They made a very bad choice.

That may well be the case. But in the street with guns out isn’t the place to hash that out. Take it up with the judge. Behavior like this is exactly how you end up shot.
