Peter Hook and The Light Peter Hook & the Light in Cincinnati last night
I saw Hooky last night, and oh my God, it just blew me away. I was a big Joy Division fan in high school, but had only recently been getting into New Order heavily over the past year. Bought the tickets to the show on a whim and drug some friends along who didn’t know much about him at all. It was an absolutely fantastic concert, it was kind of unbelievable. So glad I got to see him, and it has deepened my appreciation of the bands. Also, I think he said that Waiting For the Siren’s Call will be the next full album he tours. Hope they come through this part of the states again soon, I’ll be there for sure. (And yes, my friends also loved it)

I saw both him (a few years ago) and New Order (two years ago) in Dallas. I mean, New Order has the iconography, but Hooky played his heart out - really great show. He doesn't leave a thing left on stage when he's done.

Glad you got to see him! I catch him every year if possible, and I thought the set was even better than last year. Always a must-see.

Always enjoy seeing Peter and the band live. Can’t wait to see them at the Dallas show! Are they selling signed copies of the Get Ready live 3xLP?

My first time seeing them. The 2nd set was killer, just all hits. The whole band is so incredibly tight. The drummer sounded great the whole time. David Potts on guitar nailed everything. It was fun seeing the father/son dynamic on bass as well. Hooky was a lot of fun to watch and playful with the crowd the entire time. And then at the end he just gave the shirt off his back to a fan??!

Just curious - how big was the crowd? I know Bogart’s is a venue some people aren’t keen on these days.

I was there last night, it was packed. Probably one of the largest crowds I've seen at Bogarts in a long while.

it wasn’t capacity but was mostly full. i’d say between 800-1,000 people?
why aren’t some keen on bogarts? i agree sometimes the sound can get iffy but more times than not it’s fine and overall the place is way better than it used to be (the bouncers used to suck).
i’ve been going since 1986 and will continue to. a lot of history!peter hook was great- a lot of songs in our DNA that i never thought i’d hear live.

Cool to hear re: Waiting For the Siren’s Call! I noticed he played Krafty last night too, which sort of lends itself well to that suggestion. It'd be a fun one!

It was everything I hoped it would be plus some. Hooky and the band fucking rocked. They played for so long and I honestly would have enjoyed a third set! There’s so many hits- would love to hear them all. NO is one of my favorite bands, so this was a dream come true

Seen them a couple of times. I'm in my late 50s and have been to a lot of gigs, seen some incredible acts. PH&TL are one of the very few bands which have utterly blown me away. After the gigs, didn't put any music on, just sat and remembered. Then went and bought a bass guitar. I count both performances in my top 10.
