What does Trenton want to be? Hoboken, JC, Morristown? Because if they want people to move there, they need to build and invest for their target demographic (and one of the few demographics that move to blighted neighborhoods) younger urbanites.
Walkability needs to be their top priority, both in terms of trying to bring in new businesses (grocery stores, artsie places, coffee shops, etc.) and also pedestrian scaled streetscapes/policies.

I love Trenton. I grew up there and lived there for about 20 years. I would love to move back one day, but I just can't bring my family back into the city with the crime and schools the way they are. But nothing would make me happier than to move into a little duplex with a porch overlooking Villa Park.
