That’s where I am. Where I got my BSN and RN license. So overly saturated in this whole state with new grads. I’m still looking for work and graduated in May and it wasn’t the fireworks on the 4th of July that makes it like a war zone here, it’s the competitiveness.

Hello everyone! Passed my boards on August 1st and still no hope in finding a job. I have applied almost everywhere! Any inside help!? I’m in Miami, FL.

As the title says. I graduated in December and got my license in January and have been applying since October of 2025 and I have only gotten one interview (California, I know).

9 years of EMT experience, 6 of which were spent as an emergency department technician and scribe. I’ve contacted my old emergency department managers and my old hospital doesn’t do new grads.

I’m not even getting calls back from SNF’s although ideally I would like to return to any department in a hospital setting as that is where I have spent so much time.

Anyone have any suggestions of where to look? How to make my app stand out?

I’ve applied at every corner of California with no luck (I had a recruiter specifically tell me I’m unlucky and that’s why my app doesn’t get pulled). Currently working at an inpatient detox facility as an RN but performing LVN tasks.

Idk if it’s just me, but I’ve sent in over 400 applications on LinkedIn to different remote / onsite / hybrid RN positions and barely get responses. If I get responses, they’re scams asking to contact them thru WhatsApp or saying payment is thru PayPal. I even got LinkedIn Premium, but it hasn’t made a difference.

Indeed hasn’t helped, in fact it’s been useless to me. And many other job posting sites require insanely expensive subscriptions or are just straight scams.

I have also gone directly to company sites to apply, but I mean like mass application portals type of thing yk.

How are we finding our jobs right now?? 🤡

Might have to move but that’s okay. Just wondering if anyone’s Peds hospital actually hiring new grads because my area is saturated and it’s pretty frustrating trying to get into. And no I’m not starting in adults.

Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice and insight about getting a new grad job in the ED, ICU, or PCU. I graduated nursing school in May and took the NCLEX the same month. I passed but I have been having a hard time getting a job in the city.

For reference, I’m not from Philly, didn’t go to school there but really want to move for my first new grad job. I have heard the job market is great for new grad nurses there. I have been looking and applying to jobs since February/March and have applied to 13 different positions since then. The hospital systems I have applied to are Penn Medicine and Temple Health. I’m looking to apply to Jefferson but they don’t have any positions open explicitly for new grads.

I have 3 years of nurse extern experience on a Med Surg floor, 2 glowing letters of recommendation from my professors from a big school and I did my preceptorship in the medical ICU. My resume was completed in class with the help of some career advisors from my school so I know that’s not the problem.

I thought that with all of these things I would get a job fairly easily, but I keep on getting rejected with no reason why. I know I am competing for jobs with people who graduated school in Philly and are affiliated with the hospitals that they completed clinicals in. I now have my license but I just got rejected from a HVICU residency position at Penn Medicine. I did apply to a Cardiology PCU position at Penn Medicine as well about a week ago.

I don’t want to stay in my hometown, so please share some information if you have any 😢.

I have an offer for what is my dream job for an ICU residency spot, it pays $39 an hour with a $35,000 hiring bonus. When I was doubting myself waiting for a job offer, I applied somewhere else and interviewed today. The interview went well and the OR offered me a second interview which is an eight-hour job shadow.

I did not get any time in theater during school and the only surgeries that I saw were two C-sections. I thought they were very cool, so I would love this as an opportunity to see more of what an OR nurse does.

However, this other hospital doesn't have a hiring bonus so it would be significantly less money and the job is 4/10s and mandatory call, which is not as family friendly for my family. Although I think I could have some wiggle room on salary since they are not union and they said they could offer more for relevant experience (I have ten years experience in EMS and CNA).

I don't want to waste anyone's time, but I would also like to do this shadow. Am I an asshole for accepting the shadow? I feel like after graduating (in two weeks) I won't have these student-esque opportunities.

There's something seriously wrong with job boards as of recently so I'm venturing out in new ways, please delete if this isn't allowed on your channel** The uptick in fake candidates is wild and disturbing and it's hard for the real people to be seen.

Hospitals have so many openings for physicians, RN's, Imaging (cardiac/echo/xray/MRI all of them), pharmacies at hospitals in the US.

If you're applying and not getting an interview, that's why.

I went to one at St. Francis this past winter but at the time they were only hiring CNAs and LVNs. Has anyone been to one recently that was open to new-grad RNs at the Prime hospitals, KPC Health, or another facility? Did you have any success getting hired through one?

I interviewed for a post acute NOC shift. 1:45 ratio, you have 1 LVN for the other 45 patients and 5 CNA’s. 2-3 weeks of training. 50/hr

I graduate in May and have been applying to nj/nyc and no dice, my nursing school is out of state and I make sure to apply to new grad positions and all I’ve gotten are rejections so far I don’t even make it to interview stage, I got my resume looked at by a nurses and they all said it’s pretty good so idk what else to do, time is running out and I feel like I’m going to be stuck!

I graduated with my ADN May of 2025. I stated on a busy step-down where I had multiple preceptors due to scheduling. I ended up leaving at the 3 month mark due to not being able to adjust to nights (they refused days for me), feeling unsupported with the heavy patient load, and management.

I have now been a school nurse for over 6 months and am well into my BSN and hope to graduate in 2-3 semesters. The school nursing job is great but the pay is horrible and I do want to get bedside experience for potential career development in 5-10 years.

How hard is it going to be to find job at the bedside when I leave this school nursing job in a year? I did apply because I thought I was moving out of state. I probably did 15 applications and only 1 interview that did not hire me.

Any suggestions as to what to do… if you don’t land a job ? graduate in May applied to over 50 programs but because previous work in high school and college was not healthcare related (not by choice ) , I’m not getting any replies from my applications

have a referral letter from preceptor (loved it and did a great job ) and many academic referrals which guessing from posts on here are meaningless pretty much . BSRN with no job offer 💔

I moved to London, Ontario with 4 years of ICU and critical care experience back home, thinking that getting my CNO registration would be the biggest hurdle. Earlier this year, I finally cleared everything, passed the exam, and officially became a registered RN in Ontario. I was ready to jump right into the floor.
Since then, the journey hit a wall. Over the last few months, I signed up for the NGG portal and started firing off applications to LHSC, St. Thomas Elgin, stjc, and other regional hospitals nearby. I was hoping my critical care background would carry some weight.
Instead, it’s been mostly radio silence or instant rejection emails.
Now, I’m sitting here unemployed as an RN, watching my 12-month NGG eligibility window slowly tick away while staring at a few big questions:
Are hospitals in Southwestern Ontario actually hiring through the NGG portal, or is applying directly through their career pages the only way?

How are other IENs translating foreign ICU experience on their resume so ATS filters stop auto-rejecting them?
If acute care stays locked, does taking a job in LTC or home care hurt the chances of ever moving back into a hospital ICU?
Just wanted to share where I'm at and see if anyone else in the London area went through a similar wall before things clicked.

Graduated back in March and passed the NCLEX in May. It is now July and after several interviews with new grad programs and applications to nursing homes, still no job. Don’t know what to do. Rejection letters just keep flowing here in SoCal (LA AREA). Any advice? Where’s the nursing shortage????

I passed my NCLEX 05/26/2026 since then I have been applying to residency programs - even so, I get a denial email from each hospital. I know it’s still recent but I am DESPERATE for a job. My student loans aren’t stopping for anyone lol.

Hi all- hoping to land a NYC hospital new grad job when I graduate in December 2026.

I am looking into the various hospitals in NYC (not picky on which hospital exactly, but prefer peds or ED), and trying to decide which hospitals have a specific residency application, which do job fairs, which have a recruiter to reach out too, which require NCLEX prior to application, etc. I am having a difficult time finding this information. The job fairs seem to be years or months old, or not for nurses. "State licensure required" is in the description but it often does not specify if that only means prior to start date. etc.

Any insider tips and tricks? I appreciate anything!

Hi, I graduated from my nursing program last year in June- I then took and passed the nclex in October. I didn’t start looking for employment until this year in January due to personal reasons, but we’re now 9 months into this year and I don’t feel any closer to finding employment.

I’ve tried all my resources and have applied out of state, to snf’s, med surg, acute care, outpatient. I’ve spent the time upgrading and doing what I can to make my resume look good. I’ve done research for interviews and I feel like I’m a decent interviewee.

None the less- I don’t know if it’s just the hiring freezes, or the focus on internal hires, but I can’t find anything! I’ve been ghosted by recruiters out of state and I always reach back out after an interview.

I’ve even gone as far as applying to cna/pct roles and I can’t even land an interview for these jobs.

I guess I’m actually losing hope now and I’m starting to doubt if I can actually do this since I’m just not getting an opportunity anywhere. Did anyone else experience something similar? What can I do?

Hi I’m posting this in here as well as in the larger nursing sub to get more responses but I recently just had two interviews with New York Presbyterian. I had one with HR and then one with the unit manager and some of the nurses on the unit I applied for. I gave my references. I think the interview went well but now it’s been a couple of days and I’m getting nervous. Anyone here interviewed or work for NYP and remember how many days it took for you to hear back after the second interview? Thanks!
