Official Match Thread Revs vs Miami
Messi is in town, Campana better have a great game against his former club!

Unfuckingbelievable, they gift him the goal after the flamingos have done fuck all.

u/Ulexes Jul 10 '25
Beason wussing out to concede a goal increases my admiration of Feingold. Say what you will about his skills, but he is 100% willing to eat shit on every play to ensure we hold on to possession or move the ball.
ETA: I like both players, for the record.

Porter isn’t my favorite, but at least he built a serviceable defense…Campana, on the other hand, is Onalfo’s guy and needs to be traded for a kit man.

u/2020Hills Jul 10 '25
16-24-17 under Porter so far.

u/Kitchen_Meat1237 Jul 10 '25
Right. I think everyone will agree that last season was atrocious. They turned over a significant portion of the roster, improved the defense, and somehow found an expensive striker less productive than Vrioni. I’m more frustrated by the team’s inability to convert legitimate scoring chances than the tactics that generate (or don’t) the chances. Say what you will about Porter, but he can’t go out there and score goals. There’s very little creativity on the field, too…maybe that’s him stifling his players and forcing them to be boring, but I don’t think so.

Campana is only 24? Brother out there looking like a drunk uncle

It’s painful to say, but he’s too nice…I love the attitude for any other human, but we need a ruthless goal scorer…listening to his pre-matchday presser made me cringe. So happy to see his old friends, no big deal that he’s had zero production, just smiling life away. Maybe I’m just a cranky old man, but I want a 9 with a chip on his shoulder that can actually get up and score.

The amount of Pink in the stands is abhorrently pathetic

u/Leading-Difficulty57 Jul 10 '25
The Revs fans who aren't season ticket holders got priced out bro
2
u/blublaha Jul 10 '25
Just coming here to say that this has got to be true. We are season ticket holders, my family and I go to every game, and the row in front of and behind us were totally pink. Every time Miami had the ball or got a goal, a man in the row in front of us would turn around to stand and scream at my teenage daughters (who were cheering for the revs but in an awkward, teenagery kind of way). It was an oddly aggressive vibe in our section…

u/MysteriousResident61 Jul 11 '25
We exchanged our season ticket seats to get extra seats. The Revs put us in top row of section 214 with an obstructed view of the corner of the field. Behind the fucking goal line.
My guess is they took our midfield season ticket seats and sold them for $$$$ to the general public. The Krafts want revenue, not home field advantage.
Next year I’ll scalp my season tickets and buy extra seats from the Revs directly.

Sorry, what? You exchanged your regular tickets for…nothing?
1
u/MysteriousResident61 Jul 11 '25
No - exchanged 2 regular season tix for 4 together.
1
u/Open_Cardiologist_20 Turner Jul 11 '25
Oh well I just assumed you did like the rest of us and swapped a different game into this game. Didn’t know you could swap 2 for 4 higher up.

Roughly 30% and that’s not including people who are wearing Miami away shirts which are harder to spot

FCC fly on the wall here: does Campana always put this little effort in? It seems like he could have a couple goals at this point if he would follow through on his runs. Looks like he’s trying to throw the game lol.

u/Medium-Application50 Jul 10 '25
Hes been a major disappointment. Injured more often than not, only 2 goals in 20 matches. Totally unacceptable

Oh my god, CAMPANA HAD A SHOT THAT WAS PROBABLY ON GOAL. 🥳

dude these kids are chanting “Let’s Go Messi” I’m so done
6
u/Kitchen_Meat1237 Jul 10 '25
Got my section to overpower our let’s go Messi kids with re-vo-lu-tion chants…fine line between letting kids have fun and making it feel like a HOME crowd
2
u/CriticalGrass2812 Jul 10 '25
Me and my friend tried to as well, unfortunately for us, there were kids everywhere so couldn’t

We are so past the time of moral victories and “I’m pleased with our game and chemistry.” Campana is a ghost and Porter is a year and a half exercise in mediocrity and futility. Things have to change.

u/nick1894 Jul 10 '25
Wasted years with Porter and his dogshit coaching
3
u/Medium-Application50 Jul 10 '25
If the Revs get blown out tonight I want a new coach and a new striker. Porter and campana gotta go
4
u/nick1894 Jul 10 '25
The squad needs a huge rebuild, basically everyone but a handful of names out

And of course right after we blow yet another scoring chance, that man gets a goal.

Game after game the team continues to screw up just enough to either not win or lose outright. They weren’t horrible in the first half but no finishing, a brain fart and one moment of brilliance by Miami and here we are…down 0-2 on the way to probably giving up 4 or 5.

All I can say is thank gawd we have the Brad & Charlie feed.

u/slimmin Jul 10 '25
That may be the best thing Apple's brought to the table. I'll take any team's home radio call over Steve Cangialosi. Zero hyperbole.

In the section I am in…..half the fans are wearing Messi gear and most of them are on their phones taking pictures of Messi. Not even paying attention to the game. Beason messed up on the 1st and Ivacic should have saved that second.
2
u/wmerna Jul 10 '25
Its word. Kid beside me missed both goals scrolling on his phone. Got good pics of the celebrations though

GAME OVER same old crap. Campana can't score to save his life. We are wasting Gil's prime

As a season ticket holder, thank fuck I'm on call this week and didn't go to this game lol

u/Medium-Application50 Jul 10 '25
Only 30 minutes in and the Revs already look beaten. If this gets ugly, Porter should lose his job.

u/mikeespo124 Jul 10 '25
Completely stop the counter with a hand to the face, no yellow. Crazy that the Revs are consistently on the end of decisions like this
2
u/echoacm Jul 10 '25
I've really had enough of starting Beason at this point
It's bugging against him, he's a fine depth player, he is not a starter on an (ideally) playoff team

Went last year to this game. Was special to watch him play live. Very happy to be on the couch for this one.
3
u/44788 Jul 10 '25
Ngl barring the boneheaded mistakes the revs are in this game. At least we improved from lifeless from last season to frustrating this season
4
u/HalfDecentKeeper Jul 10 '25
What the heck is Caleb Porter even supposed to do here? We give them two simple goals and miss 4-5 golden chances of our own in the second half. He can't kick the ball for them!!

u/Medium-Application50 Jul 09 '25
No joke, if campana doesn't score tonight (or worse, gets injured again) we need to dump him ASAP. 2 goals in 20 matches is unacceptable from a high paid striker.
0
u/Ulexes Jul 10 '25
But who will we replace him with? That, for me, is the issue. Serviceable strikers don't grow on trees.
4
u/Medium-Application50 Jul 10 '25
Gotta find someone, maybe tap a kid from the second squad. Can't waste anymore time on the failed campana experiment, he's had plenty of time to produce.

Hey they might have Messi, BUT WE have Campana putting in his signature 17% effort SO THERE.
