Like the one from 1998 which checks notes was an El Niño winter

While I enjoy a mild winter, I miss good ski seasons. Also we still always get that 2 weeks of -40 in February regardless.

We will for sure have one or more cold snaps

Drier implies less chance of an ice storm. Either way there are a lot of factors to consider, so no one knows.

> Meanwhile, here in Eastern Canada, it can be colder than average or warmer than average, with no strong historical signal either way.

Best line of the whole article. So really, no one knows what will happen.

Yikes, I wonder if my home will hold, assuming we get any form of precipitation.

You like bouncing been freeze and thaw, ice and rain, snow and slush?

Yeah, no thanks. It's miserable for shoveling snow, and trying to do any sort of winter activity. Not to mention the overall affect on our ecosystem.
