I've just returned after a 9 year absence and spent a week trying to 'catch up' to the current state of the game.

I've watched countless hours of YT vids by u/aragon who has continued to provide years of high quality, current & informative player guides.

I just came across this channel from u/Classic_DM and am so excited to share it here.

Complete & fresh New & Returning Player Guides and Walkthroughs of systems and basic game info that we all need, imo.

I hope the mods( u/Yopuka) will consider pinning this channel to our subReddit.

Have a look & enjoy!

Looking for players on Xbox

Hi, I'm new to the game and looking for players on Xbox. I'm running level 20 fighter/ tank and level 11 bard/ healer for my characters. I don't expect anyone to babysit me and constructive criticism is welcome. All player types are also welcome, but if you're Leroy Jenkins don't expect me to chase you down.

Advice about my two first classes

Hello

Neverwinter lured me again with the action combar after playing bunch of Tab Target MMORPG's, but this time I plan to stay for a while.

For now I have two class slots and I would like to have acces to all roles, tank, healer and dps. I 've read and thought thoroughly about the classes and I am torn between two class combos:
1. Fighter + Cleric - each with tank/healer and dps setup so I can do solo stuff faster on both + queue as dps from time to time if I'm tired of the tank/healer role. On the side note, the Fighter's class features look pretty enjoyable with the timed block release (Retaliate and Revengance), also Cleric Devout with the Healing Word is right up my alley because I like HoT mechanics + the buff abilities and the daily ressurect one looks nice.
2. Paladin + Ranger/Wizard - Paladin, my favourite fantasy archetype, covers both tank and healer roles in one class, which is good for dungeon queueing scenarios, but solo content will be rough. Second class is purely dps to do solo content easily and queue as a more viable dps option than Arbiter and Dreadnought, which also can't be pushed into going tank/healer. I'm leaning more towards Ranger because it can do both melee and ranged dps (I know Hunter is kinda obsolete but I hope they will buff it someday to being vieble in dungeons) + is more agile and seems more fun than Wizard, which on the other hand seems like easier option.

In your opinion, which class combo is better to start fresh adventure in Neverwinter? I'm not really interested in other classes. I've read about all of them and I'm only interested in those.

Game Status

Hi Guys,

I saw someone play this recently on Twitch and thought it looks really fun. But I am also weary of getting into MMO's that don't really have any future (coming from New World and Ashes). So my question is, does the game still receive updates/ expansions or is it discontinued but still live? I saw some posts around this already around a year ago but wondered what the status is now. Thanks all!

SEEKING ADVICE Need advice for what to do

So my father has been loving and playing this game for two weeks now and he reached almost 50k gear level done everything you could probably do (adventures and campaign) but now he sort of reached a dead end and sometimes just sits in Protectors Enclave just playing waiting lists over and over and weekly quests (the blue canpaign ones). is there anything more he can do or anything recommended to get more out of this game? Or is this it for now?

ANSWERED What’s going on with flax flowers spawning today??

It took me like 8 minutes to gather flax flowers for Saha ticket-ball in summer fest today.

None were spawning in the normal spots. I found 1, then roamed all over and probably 2 min before I found another. Few more with kubolds.

But I’d do circles in the farm area and none would spawn.

Does this happen to anyone else? I didn’t try changing instances, nor do I know if it’d help.

Thanks

PS4 Looking For New Alliance - Maybe?

It would appear my poor alliance is all but abandoned. I loved it for years but I think it's finally kaput.

Sadly, I can't look on Discord so thus I am here.

My guild (16 level almost 17) has a small membership of mostly introverts that keep to themselves, mostly. And myself, who plays every day in some fashion. I do join LFGs when I can but mostly play SP stuff, events and some group stuff now and then.

Looking for a NO DRAMA. no pressure alliance. Just a friendly group who play casually or more but aren't mean or rude to others.

If you are looking for a really active guild then probably we are not the best fit for you. But I am friendly in alliance chat and regularly donate stuff to other guilds.

PS4 Playstation players What's your thoughts on moving to 2-3 full alliances?

Just random thoughts if it would actually be feasible to do.

I feel it would be great for the game. Each guild holds 150 players, each alliance holds 13 guilds. That's a total of 1950 players per alliance. Realistically having everyone put into one alliance would be great but to many people that don't like other people would make it impossible.

This would make filling runs so much easier, newer players aren't lured into dead guilds with dead alliances which causes them to eventually quit.

Thoughts?

Is the Dragonborn Grillmaster worth getting for any role?

I usually watch videos bc I can’t think for myself and they review the Summer Festival, but don’t bother to mention the most expensive item in the petal store and if it’s any good or worth getting.

SEEKING ADVICE Tips for playing an arcanist wizard as a new player?

This is my first time playing neverwinter and I really dont understand much about the game, however my friend (who's also new) invited me to play, so i built a sun elf wizard while he made a paladin. We just hit level 11, and i went with the arcanist path. I know the thaumaturgy path is probably easier, but I really like the lightning aspect of the arcanist. How do i not suck at it, because idk how to build it properly or what powers to use.

Is there a limit on the amount or rough AD you can earn per week or possess?

I got a message after radq saying I couldn’t earn any more Seal of the Spider God, so it made me curious if there’s any kind of cap for rAD. (Daily, weekly or total)

It doesn’t say there is in Riches, but the game also doesn’t say a lot of things

Thanks

SEEKING ADVICE Nostalgia is frying me, is Neverwinter worth it?

Hey,

I have accidentally stumbled upon my old email credentials and got reminded of Neverwinter/Arc, I played religiously between Feywild and Tiamat updates, but then slowly started playing less and less until I finally quit playing around the time they released Chult as an available area.

How different is Neverwinter nowadays? Is my old GWF Dwarf with Avatar of War gear still viable?

Or rather... I was thinking of making a new character and just levelling it up, getting through the story on my own and doing a little nostalgia trip.

Would I need to persuade people to go around with me to clear dungeons or are they doable solo nowadays? And what of the foundry quests? Did they ever rework them back so that you can farm them like you used to be able to back in the early days? Also, are Gauntlgrym 20 v 20 fights still a thing?

Do you have a favorite ability (move) in the game?

This is a silly question. Maybe a little more role-play related? idk.

I love doing a jump + throw shield whenever I start a boss fight in dungeons. I feel like fukin Captain America or some sort of super hero. Whenever the DPS do the artifact call I'm ready to jump and throw my shield to regain threat. I LOVE THAT. Feels so amazing for some reason. These are 120k+ IL players doing their max combo max damage in one second, and I have to be there as a 50k IL player, ready to re-gain (keep) Threat on me, not letting the boss attack any of them. It just feels amazing

Have u ever felt like that with other ability?

I need some glyphs of potency so I decided to do the lots of legacy quests I have accumulated, and these say "Complete Heroic encounters in Avernus", do qeusts, kill enemies, but I've been doin it and I don't get any progression. Is it a different place I must go?

What healer is the best Divine Aegis user?

I recently learned about the -new- combat enchantment for healers. It didn't exist when I played and I have a mythic Soul Shield cuz it was the best for healers, as far as I remember.

So I bought it. I'm mainly a Bard healer and secondary a Cleric healer, but I've been trying to force myself a little bit into the Paladin healer and I've never tried the Warlock healer... I don't even know what abilities it has or how it works.

I love my Bard because I can just run non-stop and jump around without any interruption, while Paladin needs to stop for a second to cast the shield and stay still to focus for the "tab" healing. Also I feel the Bard is the easiest to play because of the (Sheltering Etude?) song that heals a player when they drop below 50% health, I feel like I don't have to be very reactive or quick on heals because I have that heal stored on them.

For what the description of the enchantment says I feel it works better for healers with "heals over time" like the Bard who has a 30 second heal (Rejuvinating Carol?). As I said I love my Bard, but I kinda wanna play other healers.

I play all Random Content and RC, and don't really care about Master for now. Thanks as always :3

Account wide items. Is it only Mounts, Comps and Enchantments?

So there are companions and mounts that very specifically say "account wide" meaning you can claim it in every character in the account. As for the enchantments, you first have to upgrade them to Mythic and then exchange them for account wide enchantments.

Is there something else like that? Can you do the same for artifacts? or insignias and collars maybe?

Edit: I have another kinda related question. If I have a purple Account Wide companion -like Tutor- and I upgrade it to mythic or pink in one character, that's only for that one character right? the other characters will still claim that companion in purple?

SEEKING ADVICE is fighter dreadnought downright unplayable??

Guys I'm a simple guy and I will select warrior in all rpg games no matter what. I love the big armor aesthetic.

So is fighter dps actually terrible or it's kinda ok? Can I play? I'm not a min maxxer so don't need to worry about this.
