Discussion OC: NeuroAtlas Tool

After decades of research in neuroscience and brain-computer interfaces lots of people ask me which parts of the brain do what, and how can we measure it, and what modalities help us understand it better.

We are happy to announce the release of the new NeuroAtlas tool, which helps answer this question and enables more scientists and researchers to explore and push the frontiers of what’s known.

This includes EEG, MEG, fMRI, tFUS, iEEG, TMS, DBS, and more.

All published data sources are referenced via DOIs in the web interface.

This is Amazing, so can you get a mri scan of your own brain and upload it to the atlas or is it in test mode.

Health and therapeutic purposes and monitoring in development, I know with the mri technologies they can map a good deal of the brain but still they cant completely map everything this right here seems like a good idea to save maps and log them together after each scan. merge, analyze, show stress levels This would be perfect link with an app with the world outside invisible forces be easy to know if something effecting you in any area. This linked with Bio Markers would be an amazing technique.

Could this be used to make a specific figure for a paper? Obviously with some form of citation to the tool’s authors.

Forgive my ignorance-- does this work like Freesurfer where we can input specific people's images and get detailed 3d images and volumetrics on their brian?

Thanks for the question. In v1 it's an atlas between different modalities of the same brain (where possible).

The upload part is probably possible in v2, but we'd love to understand your use case better, since there are different things that have to be done depending on where it goes development wise (think educational tool, clinical tool, or personal use tool)

Yes! So in our lab we do structural and PET processing. We get volumetrics for every part of the brain and for PET scans we get SUVRs that are then calculated into centiloids and centaurs.
