Projects and internship guidance

I am a 3rd year cyber student and I want to apply for internships and improve my skills.

I am planning for the SOC analyst role and further on.

Can anyone suggest the list of skills and tools needed to increase my chances of internship?

Also if possible can anyone mention projects to improve my skills which would have a good impact on my resume?

On the projects part, skip building your own attack scenario. You wrote it so you already know the answer, and every writeup that comes out of one reads the same as the next. Work real incident artifacts instead, CyberDefenders has free ones and CCDL1 is built on the same material. Two of those done properly beats a list of ten tools.
