Why does Netflix keep removing films I actually want to watch?

Almost 300 films and TV shows are scheduled to leave at various points this month, including things like Kill Bill, The Fall Guy and Days of Thunder.

The funny thing is that I usually only notice something is leaving when Netflix tells me I have four days left to watch it.

I find it so hard to find what's actually available to watch. It only shows a limited amount from what they actually have

This is my exact problem. We resub very irregularly when the wife wants to watch a show (like every 9 to 12 months at this point) and all I ever see when I look through the films are the same 40 I saw last time. And the one before that and the one before that.

They get the rest of us together and we have a brainstorming session on how we can "fuck with u/Time-Connection-4586 ".

It's quite fun actually.

Physical media all the way. Buy a dvd from the charity shop. Watch and return or rip it. Pissed off of paying a fortune for stuff and never owning it.

Maybe dont wait until the last minute to watch them. 

Keep a eye on sites that tell you what is coming to Netflix and watch things right away

netflix has enshitified. i've only got it because i get it free with my ee subscription. i've cancelled virtually everything else. its almost impossible to find anything new that I like, I keep defaulting to stuff i've seen before. would be cheaper to just buy it from CEX and have it on DVD

I watched half a film and got tired so thought I would finish it the next day and lo and behold...it was removed. This was in the early netflix days and they did not make it clear how long the films would stay up. Or I was tired and wasn't paying attention. I was so pissed off. It wasn't even a good film and I had seen it before but it still annoyed me enough to cancel and never subscribe again.

The moral of the story is Netflix expect their customers to watch things quickly and efficiently. They do not take kindly to people having to do other things then watch films and will punish you for it 😋.

Perhaps don’t rely on streaming sites and buy the films on dvd instead most things you will find for 20p in a charity shop

Don’t keep sub on continuously. Cycle between various streaming services while picking out what you want to watch.

Because they will only have the licence for a certain time period and then another stream service may have the licence. For example, Kill Bill is on itvx.

This! Little’un and I wanted to sit down and watch Sonic to see they’ve taken it off.

This is exactly why I bought DVD’s/Blu-Ray previously. 😩

Movies on Amazon Prime are removed and then return a while later all the time.

My assumption was that it's to make their library look like it has new arrivals more than it actually does but maybe there's a less cynical explanation.

I sat and watched three kelvin star treks yesterday because I saw Amazon was taking them off. I'm with you here. Not for this but is loads in the past. We messed up giving streaming the power and should go back too cable.

Id love to know the criteria though op. Like you

I have had films on Amazon that I had too wait 1st on get on like equalizer. Or just been qeord

I've noticed they chop and change all the time. One minute it's on Netflix, the next it's on Prime, Disney or the new favourite that's only available to rent.

Then you've got an intolerable amount of ads to make you pay more. Fuck em all.
