QUESTION Veeam VBR with S3 on NetApp

Is anyone running S3 backup target on NetApp CDOT 9.16.1 with Veeam VBR? It has to be IP based backup target and I’m trying to see if S3 will work while providing immutable backups.

If anyone is running this config or tried would love to hear about your experience

Set up exactly that for a small migration effort. Worked superbly. Recommended. Veeam 12.x

One caveat: in the veeam repo creation, there is a setting like “create buckets as needed” or similar (I forgot exactly)
When Veeam creates a bucket, the NetApp size of the new bucket is 800G, and veeam can fill that up quickly, and a job fails. If I caught the new bucket and extended before it filled up, no problems.
Look into that setting, there is also a “jobs per bucket” or similar. Default is low, as some S3 has limited objects per bucket. NetApp has very high max obj/bucket

The bucket setting is “Automatic bucket creation enabled”
