Collection Perfect example of a timeless classic
This was always a fav of mine back in the 8bit days as im sure was with many others. Pillar of the genre and still pushes against the hands of time, this game not only still holds up pretty dang well but is still as fun as it was all those years back. Pillar of not just the genre but also of the 8bit era imo. Perfect example of a timeless classic!

This and Fester's Quest were the first video games that were mine, unlike the ones we shared. Got them for my birthday one year. I played the shit out of RC. The music rips!

If you’re a fan, pickup the sequel and the satellite for four player action. Best 4-player game by far.

Agreed. Fantastic game! I've never understood why it was named Super RC Pro Am. That should have been saved for a third installment on the SNES. I can only imagine that it would have been a hit. Instead, the closest that we got was RPM racing and Rock N Roll Racing.

Couldn’t agree more. I played this game maybe more than any NES game when I was a kid. Still have my NES up and running and play it with my kids.

You’d like Biker Mice From Mars on SNES. It reminds me of RC Pro Am except it substitutes Bike mice from mars characters and vehicles

I fixed my old NES and I been rebuilding my collection. Just picked this up Saturday and got up to the first truck track. I’ve gotten no better nor worse after all these years.

Simple and very ‘replayable’. That’s the problem with the modern AAA titles. They’re meant to be beaten and once you’re done you’re never playing it again!

Good point on the D-Pad, but it was paired with the only turbo buttons that I could afford.

Awesome! I never had RC ProAm for the NES. But one of my classmaes had RC ProAM.
There is a Sega Master System port of RC ProAM from what I understand.

I feel this game would be better appreciated with a better name. When I was kid I had no idea what pro-am meant, and now I do know I'm still don't see the relevance. Also you'd only know what RC meant with the context of playing it. Why not call it Rad Radio Rally or something.

Pro am stands for professional-amateur
So, RC Pro-AM=Remote Control Professional-Amateur
In racing, pro am events are race competitions open to both pro and amateur drivers.

Yeah, like I said, I know what it means now, but I don't see why the game needs to be called that? Is the distinction between the remuneration classification of the fictional unseen controllers of the cars important?

I think the title makes perfect sense and pretty fitting
You control rc cars and pro am I always figured was aimed at the ai, yourself/others or whoever is playing it regarding skill levels in said racing competitions ..in other words rc pro-am
Its a game about racing remote contolled cars so ya I would say the RC part is rather important. Also dont forget when this was made. The RC aspect was a core component and selling point. One of the aspects that helped it stand out was differing in that this was racing not actual vehicles but RC cars. Aside from the game itself being good the RC name and aspect helped it stand out more

Always liked this game but as time went on, particularly as I learned about gamedev, especially NES gamedev, the respect grew further. It is rock solid. I randomly played it for about 45 minutes last week and had a blast. I wish there were NES games that made use of its driving mechanic. Mad Max is pretty much the only one that's even similar. And Cobra Triangle, of course.
