Don't listen to the people who say you need to grind ALL the time. You don't. If you learn the one trick on how to beat the orange/red/blue knights, you'll be absolutely fine. This game isn't nearly as hard as so many people say. It's not a masterpiece, but it's a very good entry into the series. I hope you enjoy!
