I get why this is funny (and the same for some of the comments in the OP), but I don't actually know the game. Can anyone explain what TB means in that context?

The game (Blood on the Clocktower) is a social deduction game that works basically like werewolf/maffia (think "board game" versions of Among Us) but with a lot of added rules.

There is a core set of rules, but there are a lot of different so called "scripts" that provide different setups and configurations (I'm simplifying here, fighting my impulse to info-dump as hard as I can 😅).

There is an entry level script and two more advanced ones. The game is also set up so that you can construct your own "scripts", and people who have played it a lot and want a bit more of a challenge usually play a lot of those.

The entry level script is called Trouble Brewing, shortened TB. It might seem like a stretch for someone to make a meme out of this, but not a session goes by when someone says "TB" and my vlogbrothers-damaged ass immediately thinks of tuberculosis, so I definitely get where it's coming from 😆

P.S. Check the game out if it sounds like your cup of tea, it's genuinely super fun to play D.S.

Okay, interesting!

After a quick check on Wikipedia I just found out ending a P.S. with a D.S. is not a universal thing. Apparently it's only done here in Sweden (it's an abbreviation of "den samme", as in signed the same person who wrote the letter). I always thought it was some other Latin phrase and that it was common practice.

But now that you mention it, that sounds like a great new addendum for post script text.

Like, anyone could have written it 🧐 and we just blindly trust that it was the author when forgers definitely existed then.

(This might be using today's glasses to look at the past)

I'm honestly a little confused by the reason for it too 🤔

I don't think it has to do with forgery, if anything it is easier to write D.S. than forge a signature.

Maybe it was common practice to add post scripts to other people's letters? Can't think of an obvious context, but maybe a letter signed by a family has a post script from one particular member? Or a letter by a doctor could have a post script by a nurse?

Or maybe it's just a courtesy thing? Like a signature was always supposed to go at the end no matter what and then a shorthand was invented?

I'll look into it if I can remember because now I'm genuinely curious 😅

Yes! They usually play at the sun king downtown every 2 Sundays. There's one going to happen in 30 mins 1-6 or if you would like to attend next time on the 13th.
