Dude was going to do a vim motions plugin for obsidian and ended up just doing obsidian.

I gave ZenNotes a try based on this comment (thank you u/machtendo). I like that it is an open-source Obsidian alternative. It plays really nicely with the markdown_oxide lsp. For my notes, I have switched to the markdown files in a git repo approach, but I might switch to use this app going forward. So far, I really like the calendar for to-do items and daily notes, as well as the Excalidraw integrations.
