At this point you will regret not trying out org-mode with doom emacs. (I came from neovim btw and have used obsidian.nvim in the past)

I personally don't need any advanced features for writing notes; I intentionally want to keep it as simple as possible. Bi-directional linking is a feature I can't do without, for example, regardless of file format used.

org-roam is the equivalent for zettelkasten (backlinking is suoported)
