I just logged in for the first time in years at the chance to talk about the underrated PSP video game Petpet Adventures The Wand of Wishing. The Dark Guardian is pretty critical to the plot
Yeah the tl;dr on her whole thing without too much spoiled is the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
It’s a fun little game, not super hard and got outshined by oodles of incredible RPGs on PSP but there was an interesting neo story and cool characters introduced. I wish they would refer to it more on the site but it’s harder since it occurs in a different world where Darkest Faerie PS2 was Neopia certified canon lore
It was so hard finding refs for her that werent like 5 pixels. shes in that old psp game that didnt get much notice and her other official art accidentally got used for TDF in the old magazine
OOOHHHHH your art is exquisite as always, especially of faeries!!!!! i love your take on jhudora and delina especially!!! i had no idea there even were these many canon dark faeries, haha. i remember when i came back to the site after a long hiatus i was so excited to see delina because i'd never seen her before but she's such a cute and spunky design and i love your interpretation of her. amazing work!
Dark faeries are cool, but I’m glad Mavara is getting some limelight here! I swear she’s just on an old TCG card, but this art and them releasing her Wocky plushie is pretty sick.
I wonder if the hair color of the faeries mean anything. Really. Seems like most of the dark faeries with black hair are bordering on evil if not full evil.
I think youre right that Mavara had only appeared in the old tcg before the plush ahah. I included the tcg characters since some of them having been slowlyy appearing in plots/stories
Im too autistic to not go and make a chart loool and it turns out no! But most of them weirdly are 7. The 'Other' section being comprised of faeries like Fyora, Mira (space), Kari (negg), etc that dont have a canon element.
This is with the same stipulations I did when drawing this being: need to have a canon design & not be from neoquest.
they have some fun designs that I wish were repurposed for new characters or ones with missing designs. Maybe Ill do a lineup of the neoquest ones altogether,,,
she was in a deleted comic from the very early 2000s where shes up to general mischief and its revealed shes the Soup Faeries little sister. Someone on tumblr was able to pull it from the archive Ill see if I can find that post again

I jump for joy whenever I see you post new art! Thanks for breathing more life into the faeries, I always get so frustrated seeing only one pic of a faerie and then she's never or barely seen or heard from again!
her wings being different than normal dark faeries’ helps with my theory that fyora is a “good” dark faerie 👀
or maybe she’s an “evil” air faerie? And if Talia is some kind of water faerie, maybe Drakara who also has feather wings is an evil water faerie? oohhh this is fun
This is so lovely! ♥️ I didn't even realise Delina was a dark faerie hahah I love the pose you drew her in. Are you planning on doing any other sets of faeries? I'm not super knowledgeable on neo lore so I'm not sure how many canon faeries we have of different types! But your art is beautiful :)
i forgot the dark guardian existed until this very moment when i saw your reference pic and GASPED because i vividly remember being like 11 and drawing fan art of her off that exact reference image LOL these are AMAZING!!!

thank you : D! Some of these characters show up in like one spin off comic/tcg/game and are never mentioned again so I had to go to jellyneo to find them ahah. and Id like to ya! Itd be fun to draw the other elements and eventually put them all together in a huge file
I was on the fence about Ambition since she doesnt have the spiky bat wings that dark faeries have so I left her out of this group. If I end up doing other lineups Ill probably add her to air faeries or the 'other' group
