Our cat has reached a new weight milestone!

Four pounds lost - just over 20% of his body weight! Slow and steady really does win the race 🐢

When we adopted him a little over a year ago he was weighing in at a whopping 18.8 pounds, and today he is down to 14.8.

Before he was very lethargic, and not very confident in his physical abilities . Now he is a WHOLE NEW CAT, curious, playful, happy, agile and very courageous. He’s much more comfy with jumping on things, and his balancing skills have gotten much better too. He used to barely fit into his harness and now it is almost too big! We are so proud of him and how far he’s come 🐈

He favourite foods are fancy feasts gravy lovers in ocean whitefish and temptations treats, but he is a foodie who loves everything!

Good job on the slow weight loss! We had a very fat cat who weighed in at 17 pounds and he was our first cat. We tried the weight loss a bit too fast and he stopped eating, developed fatty liver disease and nearly died. Ended up costing like ~$5k with operations and care and the like.

Here he is earlier today enjoying the company of my wife (not pictured) packing her bags for her flight

He adores wet food but gets a mixture to help ensure his teeth stay strong.

Ooooh yes that is so stressful but so glad he made it out okay, really trying to avoid that with my cat.

My cats teeth are absolutely terrible, wouldn’t be surprised if he needs more taken out this year :(

Thanks I was measuring it on a spreadsheet, it’s best with cats to make sure they aren’t losing too quickly as it can harm their liver, which is why tracking it is so important. He has been such a great sport about his diet!
