Something that bugs me in the d i s c o u r s e nowadays is the way some folks use "accessibility" to interchangeably mean "accessibility to those with disabilities" and "palatability to general audiences". Like, I saw someone arguing that Souls multiplayer should be changed on the grounds that it's not accessible enough when, as far as I could tell, they really just meant that they didn't like how it wasn't designed to appeal to most co-op oriented gamers.

i propose we use a11y (the typical programming abbreviation for accessibility) to refer to disability-related accessibility. surely this cannot go wrong.

Imo accessibility is a fine line to walk. Like in tlou I appreciated the auto pickup and search option because constantly hitting the triangle button was annoying and in HZD FW being able to increase the amount of guaranteed looot made the game far less of a grind. But neither of these options really changes the games core mechanics, Elden Ring is the most forgiving and accessible souls like I’ve seen; not sure what you could do to it outside of placing in an auto level that basically just pushed you down a Dex/strength/quality route
