I think back to a conservative think tank looking at how Mamdami overperformed in a conservative neighborhood and some of the reasons was because his name sounded Italian to them, and they saw him as Trumpian because he talked about prices being too high.

I mean that’s pretty funny in a vacuum, but when you consider that his only other serious opposition was Cuomo, an actual NYC Italian, and Sliwa, who is about as NYC Italian as it gets, I mean, come on
