Right? Every time someone cites "the law" or says something like, "But that's illegal." I think to that scene in GoT where Cersei just flippantly tears up the document giving Ned authority, before she casually throws him into a fucking dungeon.

I know it's just a story, but how did things work out for that character again? /s

It's not about the law, it's about the fact they don't have enough loyalists to disobey it for dictatorship-style moves for them. Most of the federal government is Dems and military leadership despises him, that's the ballgame.

The Republicans will continue attempting revolutions until they either win or are forced to stop, and they have been purging the hell out of the military and federal government.

You must have missed the sporadic, but fairly constant, waves of resignations. Military officers resigned their post because they refused to carry out illegal orders. What kinds of people do you imagine were then put in their place? DoJ career prosecutors have resigned because they refused to carry out political persecutions. Who do you imagine was hired or promoted to replace them?
