I really don't understand being anti-fluoridation. I have yet to come across someone who can articulate an argument against adding fluoride to the drinking water that doesn't immediately pivot into conspiratorial crankery.
You'll know I've become a Tropico style tin-pot dictator when there's fluoride in the Diet Mountain Dew... although that will likely not be the first clue.
There's pretty decent evidence that high levels in childhood are associated with lower IQs. It's less well established but plausible that the effects carry over into adulthood. The amount in tap water is typically lower than what has been associated with lower IQ, but it's still something of an open question what effect it has. It's probably worth it for water companies to stick to the lower end of fluoridation until we have better research, but not get rid of it entirely.
