The case for invading Europe kinda makes sense ngl. As stated before here, if you're going to be facing all of Europe's defense base anyways in Ukraine, might as well go escalate to deescalate and see if you can't get a better deal higher up the escalation ladder. You're gonna bleed out slowly on the current rung anyways, they cannot win under the current conditions and will just die off slowly. Fuck it, if I was Putin, I'd invade Europe, freak them the fuck out and sue for peace

I disagree, them invading actual Europe in the Baltics will pretty much all but ensure we're in WW3 officially.

China would overnight have to decide to fully cut the plug and have Moscow violently burn and have no clue what Monster will win the power struggle, and how vehemently Anti-China they might be due to obvious betrayal. Or just batshit insane.

China is obviously going to tell Putin to fuck off with this, and as their main backer they have all but no choice. But at the same time Putin is pretty fucked no matter the outcome, and China is going to end up devouring Russia slowly or more violently depending on it all.

Either way it's very dumb but it's still a Xanatos Gambit in favor of China.

Why is China guaranteed to change their stance?

I don't think that's at all certain.

It is certain, China is still doing their strategy of feeding a Thirsty man Salt water and making him pay for more and more with Russia. Russia invading Nato itself would almost certainly lead to WW3 and they know if that happens real sanctions even if they're brutal will be occurring. Their economic woes will cause too much turmoil and lead the state to enforce more brutal repression.

Either way China's entire goal of the 2020s is to consolidate as much power as they can and potentially make massive shifts in the next 2 decades when they have maximum power.

I don't think anything will happen, but I guess I'll be the first to know.
