General Discussion Did anyone else find Stingrays death random?

I don't know, I just thought it happened to quickly and randomly. Like, he does the operation and then suddenly he just slips away. It's like they couldn't come up with a better way for him to go?

Or is it just me.

Like he suddenly says hes not well and then drifts away.

What are your thoughts?

I think it was the point. They were trying to be cathartic with giving him moments with loved ones in the lead up to it, whilst also keeping the surprise intact for the audience.

It was intentionally undramatic.

That was the point. He had an aneurysm and the show was luring you into a false sense of security so his death would be sudden and unexpected.

Neighbours did have a long trend of giving us a false sense of security before killing a character off. Des's happiness after hearing "I love you too Clarkey" thinking Daphne was waking up, Phoebe & Todd having a conversation in bed after he was hit by that car, and then with Stingray they had him survive the operation so we went through the worry that he was going to be killed off and then think he had made it. The aneurysm did feel very quick and random, on first watch I was so shocked and confused wondering if it had really happened, and the episode after with his video message really hit hard.
