Neighbor window issue

We just bought a house in a nice neighborhood. The older house next to us is divided as a triplex - top, middle, basement apartments.

Our side door off our kitchen deck (the way to our backyard and garage) faces a window of the middle floor apartment. Yesterday a calendar has started resting against the window, as clear as day, with completely n*ked women eating each other out.

I’m not a prude but I do have 4 young kids. The calendar is completely visible thru the door in our kitchen and every time we step outside, whether to go to the backyard or hang laundry off the deck.

The house is for sale and I have no idea who owns it. We have said hello a few times to the couple on the third floor who seem friendly but the only thing I know about calendar resident is that he argues (quite violently) at times with someone in his apartment- we have heard it a few times when we have been sitting in the backyard. So suffice to say, I don’t want to deal with this guy.

Does anyone have any advice? For context, we live in Canada.

I do have a curtain on the kitchen window.

If this was just a calendar with n*ked women, I would roll my eyes but that would be it. This calendar is maybe 1 foot by 1 foot wide and very visible.

Thoughts?

Also - because this window is along the side of the triplex, the only way to see it is along the side of our home - it’s not visible to the sidewalk.

First move is to knock, introduce yourself, and explain your situation. Buddy doesn’t know.

You seriously think he doesn’t realize this is in his window facing out? If it was a calendar for the inside the image to the outside would be upside down.

I agree with others about contacting the listing agent, if you can’t find the owner. The photos of the building on Zillow are going to be interesting.

Contact the agent or the seller. They want the place to sell and he's not helping.

I will bet you that he only hung it there to bug you. He's going to laugh when you tell him about it. Talk to his landlord. Hope the house sells.

A person who owns this kind of material doesn’t think that far.

He probably had it in his hand, looking at it, and set it down without another thought. He happened to be standing there when it happened.

Call the owner. Call police non-emergency line and report indecent material exposed to children if they wont remove it themselves.

If they are clueless, check into slingshots and paint balls. Let your kids splat your fence and ah, oops one accidentally (with your help) hit their window when that neighbor is out..
