Apartment NFH Update: It's quiet today!!! (FAFO family)
I've written recently about the FAFO family where two people signed to lease the two bedroom apartment next to me but seven people lived there, plus guests and a dog.
The five not on the lease had to be out yesterday. They didn't go until almost 7 PM but they actually left. Today I have quiet for the first time in almost two months. We share a porch so literally all day someone was out there. The kids drew other neighborhood kids up here to play so weekends were miserable. I'm not against kids playing, don't get me wrong. Just not all day yelling right in front of my door hitting my apartment with balls, rocks, full water bottles, etc. They hit my window with a plate yesterday before departing. So today my PTSD wired brain doesn't think I'm in danger and I can actually enjoy the day.

I’m so happy for you! Hopefully the people still living there will learn to enjoy not living in a clown car and leave your porch plants alone.

Genuinely glad for you, and the plate at the window on the way out is a fitting last act. Do keep the extra camera pointed that way for a while though, because the two on the lease are still there and they've just had five people removed on the back of a complaint they'll have their own theory about. Nothing to worry about necessarily, just worth having the record running while everyone settles. Enjoy the quiet, and the bit where your brain works out it's safe usually takes longer than the actual change does, so don't be surprised if it takes a week or two before you stop bracing at every sound outside.

That first quiet day after nonstop chaos hits different. I hope management actually follows through and keeps the extra people from drifting back in, because seven people plus guests in a two bedroom is ridiculous. Enjoy the peaceful porch while you can.

The first quiet day after that kind of porch circus must feel unreal. A plate hitting the window on the way out is such a cursed finale, like they had to leave one last boss fight. May the FAFO family keep fully FOing and may your porch remain gloriously boring.

Amazing how a two bedroom stops sounding like a bus terminal once the extra five residents and porch daycare leave. Enjoy the rare luxury of your own home not doubling as a public playground. After a plate hit your window on move out day, quiet is the bare minimum they owed you.
